Monthly Favourites- November 2016

Hello everyone! It’s officially my favourite time of year! I love getting cozy on the couch and watching Christmas movies, seeing the lights on my drive home from work and don’t even get me started on how much I love Christmas music! It feels a little weird that a just over a month ago I was in Disney where it was decked out for the holidays! It’s Monthly Favourites time and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month. I sharing everything from entertainment, beauty, and everything else. Okay, let’s get started!

Monthly Favourite November 2016

Moving the McGilivrays- I have been on an HGTV binge lately, I can watch pretty much anything on that channel! I really only caught the last few episodes of this show, but I liked it! If you are not familiar with it, Scott McGillivray and his family look for their forever home, find it, tear it down, and build a monster home. Some of (most of) the house is over the top, but it was neat to the house come together room by room.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life- You probably know by now that I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan, so obviously I watched the revival! Ethan was a sport and I watched all of it within the first two days of it’s release. My reaction? I loved it! I laughed, cried (a lot), and don’t even get me started on the final 4 words. After hearing them I burst into tears because I was shocked. No spoilers, but I think that if Sex and the City can get two movies, Gilmore Girls can get another season. I will say one thing, because so many people came back for the revival, I was most excited to see Christopher. Like squealed with excitement when I figured out who Rory was talking to. Who were you most excited to see?

Shisedo Eyelash curler– I have to admit I purchased this over a year ago, and only started using it about two months ago. Man it makes a difference! Mascara is so much easier to apply! I flinched a lot when I first started using it, but I have gotten much better now. Only minimal pinching.  I figured it’s the first step to putting contacts in, which I’ve been avoiding for about 6 months. All I have to do is make an appointment to go back and get used to putting them in and taking them out, and I’ve haven’t called yet. I should really get on that.

Food & Drink

Fruity Pebbles We used for the first time on our trip to Disney, and it worked really well, just not quite in the way we thought (which was on us not them). I thought I would want some Fruity Pebbles one morning so I was going to get the individual portion, but I got the box instead and I’ve been enjoying it as a snack a few nights a week 🙂

Alpine Punch– I’ve mentioned the set of teas I got from David’s Tea a while ago, but I thought I would point out my favourite! It’s great for Fall with hints of apple, cinnamon, ginger and nuts. It’s just makes me feel all warm and cozy!

Disney World- This is an obvious one, but my favourite thing I did in November was go to Walt Disney World! I hope you are enjoying the vlog every Friday, it’s been fun reliving my trip! Don’t forget to Subscribe to get a notification every time I post a video!

Disney shadows

Mugs- Ethan and I got the adorable mugs as an engagement gift from a family friend, and I love them! I’ve seen some variations of the same mugs before but I love how simple these ones are! I also love the handles make a heart!

Cogsworth- I think I’m officially obsessed. I am so happy I picked up Cogsworth when I was in Disney World! He’s adorable, and adds the perfect touch of Disney to the desk in our room.

Cogsworth– I’ve mentioned before how much I like Lauren Conrad, and because I know she got married a few years ago, I went straight to her blog to read EVERYTHING wedding related.

I’m the type of person that didn’t want to know what my ring would look like, and didn’t want to plan my wedding before I got engaged. I had a bit of an idea, but I wanted to leave that excitement for when I was engaged. I don’t have a problem with people who do that, it’s just not me. So now that I’m engaged, I know pretty much nothing about planning a wedding. I’m also the type of person who wants to have all of the information before making a decision, so I’ve been reading everything weeding related for the past month. If you have any tips or reccomendations for me, let me know in the comments!

Monthly Favourites- October 2016

Hello everyone! It’s already November! Where is this year going? It’s monthly favourites time once again, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month! From entertainment, clothing and more I’m sharing it all. Let’s get started!

Monthly Favourites October 2016

Adele- I was lucky enough to score Adele tickets last year, and it was finally time to see her! She was amazing, as always. And so funny! If you ever get the chance to see her in concert, there is no way you can go wrong.

This is Us- The only new show I’ve started watching this year, and I love it! It reminds me a little of Parenthood with how everyone is connected while still having their own storyline. I love seeing Mandy Moore acting again, and it’s nice to see Milo (Jess) from Gilmore Girls again! It is a little weird seeing him as a dad.

Café Forty-Seven tank– You’ve actually already seen this shirt if you watched the “What I’m Taking to Walt Disney World” video I put up just over a week ago! I absolutely love the colour of it. And it’s so soft. Definitely a new favourite Disney themed piece of clothing!

Sweat pants– Since it’s jean season once again, I find that I like to change it to something a little more comfortable when I get home from work. These sweats from Old Navy are perfect! They’re not too hot, and not too baggy. Plus they have cute little pockets! I found the closest pair I could see online, but they are not the exact ones I have.

Nafise boots from JustFab– I’ll admit my favourite thing about fall is boot season! I have a pair that I got ~5 years ago that I love, but they are very worn and at the end of their life 🙁 I’ve looked at a lot of different styles to try and find that pair, with no luck. Enter a Facebook ad from JustFab, where I picked up 4 pairs of boots for under $100. Ah-mazing! I’m only sharing my current favourite pair, so you don’t think I’m some crazy boot lady!

Spooky Vanilla Candle- I’ve mentioned how much I love candles when the weather gets colder, and it’s been chilly lately! I only have one Halloween themed candle, so I’ve been lighting it a lot this month. It smells like a spiced vanilla, and it’s really nice! I bought it in 2015 so unfortunately it is no longer on the website.

Mouse Coffee Cozy– It’s it just the cutest! I mentioned it in my packing video as well, but it just brings a smile to my face every time I see it!– Now that you guys now I’m a DVC member I thought I would share one of the Disney websites I look at almost daily. It’s filled with other DVC members and is a great resource. It’s also how I know so much about what’s currently going on in the parks when I’m not there, and any rumors. One of my favourite things to read there are Trip Reports.

I don’t talk about what I do for fitness a lot, but I tried something new this month and thought I would share!

Daily Moves from Tone It Up- You probably know that I love Tone It Up and follow their weekly schedules, well, weekly, but I tried something new from them this month. They came out with a 31 day challenge for October, instead of the normal 8-week challenges. In this challenge you had to complete the 5 Daily Moves with 31 reps of each move. It was nice to change it up from my normal workout videos, and oh man was it hard! It didn’t seem like it was a lot, but for quite a few day it was hard to walk!

Ezekiel French Toast- Because I am a member of the Nutrition Plan, I got a special 31-day plan for every day of the challenge. While I didn’t follow it exactly, I felt like I made healthier choices throughout the months, and didn’t drink any pop! My favourite recipe from the plan? Ezekiel French Toast. It’s a healthier version if regular French toast, with protein powder, egg whites, and almond milk for the base, and Ezekiel bread instead of regular bread. 2 pieces are really filling!

Monthly Favourites- September 2016

Hello everyone and Happy Fall! I’m starting to like fall more and more, so while the weather is cooling off, I’m still happy it’s not winter! Plus, it’s almost sweater weather! It’s monthly favourites time once again and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month. From entertainment, to clothing and beauty, I’m sharing it all. Let’s get started!

The Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt- Ethan and I are now on season 2, and are liking it! It’s a short show and nice and light to watch at the end of the day! I like how quirky the characters are too. If you are looking for something to watch on Netflix I would recommend it!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child- As a huge Harry Potter fan I felt I had to read the newest story. I have to admit that I started it in August and wasn’t crazy about it, and put it down for about a month. In September I picked it up again and finished it quickly, because it got good! It definitely plays to fans of the original stories, so even if you are hesitant to read it, give it a try!

Gavin DeGraw- I have loved Gavin DeGraw since his very first CD. His newest release came out in September, and is called “Something Worth Saving”. If you don’t know who he is, you would probably recognize “I Don’t Wanna Be” which was the theme song to One Tree Hill. I pretty much gush over him in the video below, so if you want to hear that, check it out!

Beauty and the Beast- The 25th Anniversary dvd came out this month, so I had to pick it up! I find I’m slowly accumulating the classic Disney movies on Dvd, so I don’t have to rely on my VHS’. I enjoyed watching all of the behind the scenes from when the movie was made, and watched the movie as well :). I think Gaston is becoming one of my favourite Disney villans… who is yours?

Kate Spade Blanket- While this isn’t a clothing item I do sort of wear this blanket and it is THE SOFTEST. I picked it up at Costco for $20 and am so happy I did. The best part is, it’s Queen sized! In the winter I generally have a blanket wrapped around me at all times, so I’m excited to use it as the weather gets colder! I can’t find a link for it anywhere but hopefully it’s still available at Costco!

Urban Decay Setting Spray– This is the only setting product I have used, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I like it! It smells nice and it feels like it does a good job. I tend to touch my face a lot during the day, so it’s nice having a little bit of security! I originally bought the travel size to give it a try, and now bought the full size. I decanted a bit into the smaller one for when I am travelling, and works perfectly.

Frizz Ease syrum– I actually got this in a loot bag from an event I attended in the summer, and have been using it for a while now. I have noticed that my hair is feeling very healthy, and growing quickly! I’m not sure if there is one product that is causing it, or a combination of everything, so I thought I would share some of the things I’m using!

Tresemme spray- I use this when I get out of the shower to protect my hair from the heat of the styling tools I use, and it also helps to detangle my hair as it gets longer. I’ve used it for years, and have a stockpile of extras!

Tsum Tsum by Line Game- I’ve been playing this game for a while, and like the little dose of Disney it gives me! I explain the game a little in the video, but basically it’s a game where you connect similar characters to power up “your” character and get coins. You can then buy boxes with random tsum tsum characters in it. They sell toy versions in Disney stores, that look exactly like the characters in the game. I hope that explanation makes sense!

Just A Girl and Her Blog– Instead of a new YouTuber I thought I would share a blogger this month! I found Abby’s blog back in March when I was looking for a budget binder. I couldn’t stop reading! Her blog is one that I check practically daily, and I just love how pretty it is! She’s just moved into a new house, so I can’t wait to see her decorate it!
