Monthly Favourites- December 2016

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great December, I know I did! It’s monthly favourites time once again, and thinking of things to share for the month of December was so easy, I actually had to save some things for next month! Let’s just say I was very entertained this month. Okay, let’s jump in!

Monthly Favourites December 2016

My Fairytale Wedding- You guys probably know how much I love The Bachelor franchise, so of course I found that Desiree had written a book. I didn’t just buy it because she was on the Bachelorette, she actually has a lot of experience in the wedding industry, and from her own wedding. I’ve mentioned before how lost I felt when I first started looking at wedding planning because I’ve never planned a wedding before! This book lays it out so simply, and the best part is it’s budget conscious. I’ve already noticed how quickly things add up, so looking at things from the perspective of saving money really helps. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is recently engaged!

Fixer Upper- I think this is my favourite show on HGTV. I could watch it all day! Joanna and Chip are adorable together and so funny! I love how they change ugly houses and make them beautiful, and I absolutely love Jo’s design style.

Elf- I was trying to think of my favourite Christmas movie because there are so many I watch every year, but there is really only one I can watch multiple times during the month of December. It’s Elf! I remember going to see it in the theatre when it came out, and I still enjoy it so much! I wish I could answer the phone asking people their favourite colour, but that might be weird. What’s your favourite holiday movie?

Moana- I am MOANA! Guys, I loved it. Like I listen to the soundtrack every day. It’s constantly stuck in my head. It made me cry, twice. I want to see it again! If you haven’t already seen the movie, please go see it! I love the story, and how not-typically Disney it is. The music is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about it!

Welcome Home Potter- Another HGTV show I’ve really been enjoying! It features Monica Potter (who I know from Parenthood), and she and her sisters as they fix up their childhood home in Cleveland. Each episode focuses on two spaces, and they’ve transformed the entire house! It moves pretty quickly because each episode is only a half hour, but it’s funny, and it gives me all the good feelings.

Pentatonix- I think I’ve been living under a rock guys. I hadn’t ever listened to a song by Pentatonix (except the one that was in Pitch Perfect 2, but I didn’t know who was singing). So I put one song on, and let YouTube do it’s thing. I think their version of “Hallelujah” is so good. I sang that song in one of my high school choirs so it’s always nice to hear it, but Pentatonix did such a good job with it. Because it was December I mostly listened to their Christmas songs, and based on what YouTube played, but it’s definitely nice to hear an a Capella group!

Talking as Fast as I can by Lauren Graham- I got this for Christmas and read it in less than a week! I already talked about it in last week’s post, but I couldn’t read this fast enough! It made me realize how much I miss reading, and how I need to make time for reading regularly!

Tréstique Mini Shadow Crayon– I’ve seen some people review eyeshadow sticks and just how quick and easy they are to apply, so I started looking at buying one. Low and behold I found this one in one of my ipsy bags (I got the bags for a few months before cancelling my subscription because I wasn’t really wearing makeup at the time), and I love it!

Hedgehogs chocolates I was walking around the grocery store looking for a Toblerone bar to make Toblerone Shortbread, and I hadn’t gotten an advent calendar so I wanted some chocolate. I found these hedgehogs, and although they aren’t Purdy’s ones (the best in my opinion), they were pretty good! The hazelnut and chocolate combination is so delicious, so I got my Mom some for Christmas too! I couldn’t find a link to the specific brand I had, so I linked to Purdy’s hedgehogs 🙂

Hayley Paige– I’ve been watching her YouTube videos on and off for the past few months, but with Vlogmas going on in December (vlogging every day in December), I watched her all the time. She got married in the summer, and gave birth to her daughter a few days before Christmas. I enjoyed watching her and her husbands banter, and seeing her become a mom! I’m now in the process of going back and watching her wedding ready videos for any advice. Watching her vlog every day made me want to try vlogging more, but we’ll see!

I hope you enjoyed taking a look of some of my favourite things from the past month! If you’d like to hear a little more, check out the video below!

Monthly Favourites- November 2016

Hello everyone! It’s officially my favourite time of year! I love getting cozy on the couch and watching Christmas movies, seeing the lights on my drive home from work and don’t even get me started on how much I love Christmas music! It feels a little weird that a just over a month ago I was in Disney where it was decked out for the holidays! It’s Monthly Favourites time and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month. I sharing everything from entertainment, beauty, and everything else. Okay, let’s get started!

Monthly Favourite November 2016

Moving the McGilivrays- I have been on an HGTV binge lately, I can watch pretty much anything on that channel! I really only caught the last few episodes of this show, but I liked it! If you are not familiar with it, Scott McGillivray and his family look for their forever home, find it, tear it down, and build a monster home. Some of (most of) the house is over the top, but it was neat to the house come together room by room.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life- You probably know by now that I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan, so obviously I watched the revival! Ethan was a sport and I watched all of it within the first two days of it’s release. My reaction? I loved it! I laughed, cried (a lot), and don’t even get me started on the final 4 words. After hearing them I burst into tears because I was shocked. No spoilers, but I think that if Sex and the City can get two movies, Gilmore Girls can get another season. I will say one thing, because so many people came back for the revival, I was most excited to see Christopher. Like squealed with excitement when I figured out who Rory was talking to. Who were you most excited to see?

Shisedo Eyelash curler– I have to admit I purchased this over a year ago, and only started using it about two months ago. Man it makes a difference! Mascara is so much easier to apply! I flinched a lot when I first started using it, but I have gotten much better now. Only minimal pinching.  I figured it’s the first step to putting contacts in, which I’ve been avoiding for about 6 months. All I have to do is make an appointment to go back and get used to putting them in and taking them out, and I’ve haven’t called yet. I should really get on that.

Food & Drink

Fruity Pebbles We used GardenGrocer.com for the first time on our trip to Disney, and it worked really well, just not quite in the way we thought (which was on us not them). I thought I would want some Fruity Pebbles one morning so I was going to get the individual portion, but I got the box instead and I’ve been enjoying it as a snack a few nights a week 🙂

Alpine Punch– I’ve mentioned the set of teas I got from David’s Tea a while ago, but I thought I would point out my favourite! It’s great for Fall with hints of apple, cinnamon, ginger and nuts. It’s just makes me feel all warm and cozy!

Disney World- This is an obvious one, but my favourite thing I did in November was go to Walt Disney World! I hope you are enjoying the vlog every Friday, it’s been fun reliving my trip! Don’t forget to Subscribe to get a notification every time I post a video!

Disney shadows

Mugs- Ethan and I got the adorable mugs as an engagement gift from a family friend, and I love them! I’ve seen some variations of the same mugs before but I love how simple these ones are! I also love the handles make a heart!

Cogsworth- I think I’m officially obsessed. I am so happy I picked up Cogsworth when I was in Disney World! He’s adorable, and adds the perfect touch of Disney to the desk in our room.

LaurenConrad.com– I’ve mentioned before how much I like Lauren Conrad, and because I know she got married a few years ago, I went straight to her blog to read EVERYTHING wedding related.

I’m the type of person that didn’t want to know what my ring would look like, and didn’t want to plan my wedding before I got engaged. I had a bit of an idea, but I wanted to leave that excitement for when I was engaged. I don’t have a problem with people who do that, it’s just not me. So now that I’m engaged, I know pretty much nothing about planning a wedding. I’m also the type of person who wants to have all of the information before making a decision, so I’ve been reading everything weeding related for the past month. If you have any tips or reccomendations for me, let me know in the comments!

Monthly Favourites- October 2016

Hello everyone! It’s already November! Where is this year going? It’s monthly favourites time once again, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month! From entertainment, clothing and more I’m sharing it all. Let’s get started!

Monthly Favourites October 2016

Adele- I was lucky enough to score Adele tickets last year, and it was finally time to see her! She was amazing, as always. And so funny! If you ever get the chance to see her in concert, there is no way you can go wrong.

This is Us- The only new show I’ve started watching this year, and I love it! It reminds me a little of Parenthood with how everyone is connected while still having their own storyline. I love seeing Mandy Moore acting again, and it’s nice to see Milo (Jess) from Gilmore Girls again! It is a little weird seeing him as a dad.

Café Forty-Seven tank– You’ve actually already seen this shirt if you watched the “What I’m Taking to Walt Disney World” video I put up just over a week ago! I absolutely love the colour of it. And it’s so soft. Definitely a new favourite Disney themed piece of clothing!

Sweat pants– Since it’s jean season once again, I find that I like to change it to something a little more comfortable when I get home from work. These sweats from Old Navy are perfect! They’re not too hot, and not too baggy. Plus they have cute little pockets! I found the closest pair I could see online, but they are not the exact ones I have.

Nafise boots from JustFab– I’ll admit my favourite thing about fall is boot season! I have a pair that I got ~5 years ago that I love, but they are very worn and at the end of their life 🙁 I’ve looked at a lot of different styles to try and find that pair, with no luck. Enter a Facebook ad from JustFab, where I picked up 4 pairs of boots for under $100. Ah-mazing! I’m only sharing my current favourite pair, so you don’t think I’m some crazy boot lady!

Spooky Vanilla Candle- I’ve mentioned how much I love candles when the weather gets colder, and it’s been chilly lately! I only have one Halloween themed candle, so I’ve been lighting it a lot this month. It smells like a spiced vanilla, and it’s really nice! I bought it in 2015 so unfortunately it is no longer on the website.

Mouse Coffee Cozy– It’s it just the cutest! I mentioned it in my packing video as well, but it just brings a smile to my face every time I see it!

MouseOwners.com– Now that you guys now I’m a DVC member I thought I would share one of the Disney websites I look at almost daily. It’s filled with other DVC members and is a great resource. It’s also how I know so much about what’s currently going on in the parks when I’m not there, and any rumors. One of my favourite things to read there are Trip Reports.

I don’t talk about what I do for fitness a lot, but I tried something new this month and thought I would share!

Daily Moves from Tone It Up- You probably know that I love Tone It Up and follow their weekly schedules, well, weekly, but I tried something new from them this month. They came out with a 31 day challenge for October, instead of the normal 8-week challenges. In this challenge you had to complete the 5 Daily Moves with 31 reps of each move. It was nice to change it up from my normal workout videos, and oh man was it hard! It didn’t seem like it was a lot, but for quite a few day it was hard to walk!

Ezekiel French Toast- Because I am a member of the Nutrition Plan, I got a special 31-day plan for every day of the challenge. While I didn’t follow it exactly, I felt like I made healthier choices throughout the months, and didn’t drink any pop! My favourite recipe from the plan? Ezekiel French Toast. It’s a healthier version if regular French toast, with protein powder, egg whites, and almond milk for the base, and Ezekiel bread instead of regular bread. 2 pieces are really filling!
