Monthly Favourites- March 2017

Hello everyone! Could someone explain how it is April already? I don’t know where time is going! It’s time for my March monthly favourites, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month! I’m sharing some of my favourites from entertainment, food, and more! Okay, let’s get started.

Monthly Favourites

Ed Sheeran Divide- You guys, I’m obsessed with this album! I listen to it all the time! I love the variety, and honestly feel there is a song for everyone. When the first two songs were released “Castle on the Hill” was my favourite, but man “Shape of You” is just so catchy! It’s hard to pick my favourite song, but I think it might be “How would you feel”.

The Office- I forgot how much I love this show! It’s been a few years since I’ve watched it all the way through, but Ethan and I started watching it together and now we are on season 5. We definitely slowed down on how much we are watching it, and now only watch it before bed. Every episode makes me laugh!

Candy Crush Jelly Saga- I put a little clip of me playing this game in Weekend Vlog #3, did you catch it? I’ve been playing this game for a few months now, so I thought it was about time I mentioned it! I find it is a good way to relax, and because it takes 30 minutes for lives to re-load, you can only play so long before you have to stop.

Beauty and the Beast- I went to see it opening weekend and absolutely loved it! I have so many good things to say. All of the additions to the story were great, the casting was spot on, and I think it was a great ode to the original. Does it replace it, not in my opinion, it’s just different. I think they both stand alone but are both great. Have you seen it? Let me know in the comments!

Vaseline hand cream- I keep this hand cream on my bedside table along with one of my other favourites from Bath and Body Works. Sometimes I just don’t feel like putting on a scented hand cream, so this does the trick!

Sephora Face Masks– I shared these in my Sephora Haul a little while ago, but I finally put them to use! I like to have some “me time” on the weekends, so this was nice to put on and lay in bed while relaxing. I tried the pomegranate one with Ethan, and it left my face feeling so soft! I think buying a lot of them really can add up, but it was a nice change. I also like it better than a mask, because you just rub the excess in after instead of washing it off.

Spaghetti Squash Mexican Bowls– I think I’m going to try and start sharing a new recipe every month! That way it motivates me to try something new, and I can share something vegetarian with you! This month while Ethan and I were house-sitting, we made these Mexican Bowls, and they were delicious! I love Mexican fare and these were very healthy! I sometimes find the spaghetti squash texture a little weird, but combined with the other ingredients it was great!

Headboard– In this month’s co-ordinating video, you might notice something a little different, I’m facing the other way! The reason for this is just behind me, the beautiful headboard Ethan made! It took two weekends of time, and I absolutely love it!

Monthly Favourites

KyleandCourt pregnancy announcement video– You guys know I have been following KyleandCourt for years now, and I’ve even gone back and watched all of her pregnancy vlogs for each of her kids. Selfishly I wished they would have another baby so I could follow along in real time. Well, they are expecting baby #4! I’m so excited, and their pregnancy announcement video is officially the best I’ve ever seen, so I just had to include it! I encourage you to check it out!

Monthly Favourites- February 2017

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great March so far,  and if you’re like me you are getting excited for spring! It’s monthly favourites time once again, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month. From entertainment, clothing, beauty and more, I’m sharing it all! Okay, let’s get started!

Bryan Inc.- You guys know I’ve been on an HGTV kick these past few months, so I thought I would share another one of the shows I watch often! Ethan and I caught I think every episode this season, and I really enjoyed it! Bryan Baulmer brought his wife Sarah into his company to flip two houses, and the series followed that entire process. The house was worth millions of dollars so it seemed a little over the top to me, but it was beautiful!

The Incredibles- I haven’t seen this since I was a kid, and I don’t remember why but I disd’t like it the first time I saw it. Ethan remembers feeling the same way, so when I saw it on tv a few weekends ago, we decided to give it another try. I definitely liked it more this time, and I really don’t know what I didn’t like about it the first time! It’s not my favourite Disney Pixar movie, but I still like it!

Something Borrowed- I was sick this month and spent my long weekend on the couch watching chick flicks. One of the ones I watched was Something Borrowed, and I forgot how much I love it. I have also read the book, and it’s sequel Something Blue, and I think every other book by Emily Giffin. But, when I was watching Something Borrowed, I saw something after the credits I had never caught before! It’s a perfect setup for the movie sequel! While I don’t think it’s happening very soon, I did look it up and I think they are working on a script. So I’m very excited for that!

I discovered podcasts in February, so I thought I would share the two I’ve been enjoying.

Young House Love has a Podcast– the husband and wife team behind Young House Love now have a podcast! (well it’s not that new, but new to me). It’s funny to hear their banter, and I love the different segments they have each week.

BLT Lunch Break– I’ve mentioned The Tim Tracker as one of the YouTubers I watch regularly. He’s on it as well as two other guys, Logan and Bart, so their initials make up the BLT. it’s hard to explain but in the podcast they just talk about different things, and it’s pretty entertaining!

Pretty Little Monograms Minnie Monogram Pullover I had been looking at this sweater online, and finally bought it at the same time I picked up my sister’s Christmas gift. I don’t wear a lot of pullovers like this so it’s nice to have something a little different. And I love the Minnie Monogram! It actually has my future initials on it 🙂

La Senza Pajamas– I bought these just after Christmas for $20 and I love them! I hadn’t ever worn legging style pajama pants to bed, (I usually wear Old Navy’s pj pants) and I normally wear a t-shirt, so this 3/4 length sleeve was different also. It was a nice change! Plus they are comfy to wear around the house, and I like the design on the leggings.

Silisponge- Did anyone else have this pop-up on Facebook? I was so curious that I headed to Amazon and bought one. At $5 I really couldn’t go wrong, and I like it! It’s definitely different than using a Beauty Blender because you use it to spread the makeup instead of dabbing it, but I think it does a pretty good job! I’m fairly simple in my makeup application, so I’m not sure how well it would work when it comes to blending, but it works for me! It’s also so quick to clean which I love.

Aubergine Parmigiana with Crispy Breadcrumbs– this Jamie Oliver recipe Ethan made for me on Valentine’s Day, and it was so delicious we’ve already made it again! We’re both vegetarians, so it was nice to find something hearty and delicious, while not too heathly. The addition of crunchy French loaf breadcrumbs add that special something, and they’re even good the next day when they soak up the sauce! I’m a little safe in my food experiments, but I really liked the eggplant and zucchini in this recipe.

Monthly Favourites- January 2017

Hello everyone! I hope February is treating you well! It’s monthly favourites time once again, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the past month! This month definitely features more categories than last month, and I’m sharing some of my favourites in entertainment, clothing, beauty and more! Before we get into it, can you believe I’ve officially been posting monthly favourites for a year? Where is time going! I just wanted to say a quick thank you for following along :). Okay, let’s get started!

The Magnolia Story- You guys know I love Fixer Upper, so I got Chip and Jo’s book for Christmas, and read it right after I finished Lauren Graham’s book. I really enjoyed it! There is so much more to them than you get from watching the show, but when you watch the show they are really being themselves. They’ve accomplished so much in their lives, even before they got their tv show.

Spotify– Ethan had been debating buying Spotify premium for a while now, and he finally bought it in December when they were offering 3 months for 99 cents. Since he’s bought it, I’ve been listening to it a ton! He’s downloaded some stuff to his phone so we can have music in the car (aka so I can listen to the Moana sountrack), but I also listen to it while we are hanging out in our room. My favourite playlist right now is Contemporary Blend. And the Moana sountrack. I’m obsessed.

Fabletics Gia leggings– This was one of the things I was going to put last month, but because I had so many things it got bumped! I think Fabletics legging might be my favourite, and this pair is the warmest, so it’s the best in winter! They’re almost fleece on the inside, but they still aren’t too hot. I’m loving them!

Roots Sweatpants– I bet you saw this one coming. I actually bought a second pair! They are so comfortable and not too hot. I love changing into them when I get home from work!

Hunter Boots– It’s was definitely more rainy than snowy in January, so I got to wear my boots a lot! They are comfortable (they just don’t have a ton of support when you are walking a LOT), and I love the look of them! They are simple and yet make rubber boots look fancy 🙂

Naked 3 Palette– I have been wearing this every day and loving it! I love having so many different shades to pick from, but sometimes I can’t make up my mind! Some of my favourite shades are trick, buzz, and burnout. I only use one shade at a time currently, so I’ll have to play around with using more than one soon!

Evolatree Ultra Soft Hair Towel- I bought this from Amazon, and really like having something that I know is good for my hair! It’s big enough that I know it will accommodate my hair as it grows, and with the button and elastic, it stays in place. I may even buy another one to use when one is in the wash!

Cortex 4 in 1 Curling Wand- I bought this using a groupon or WagJag (I’ve had it for about a year so I can’t quite remember), but I really like using it! It gives my hair a nice wave that I can get a few days out of, and it’s quick and easy! I’ll admit that when I first used it I had a hard time getting used to holding it upside down, but now it’s easy! I’ve been thinking of doing a “Get Ready With Me” style video, but I do my hair a couple of different ways, so let me know if you would be interested in multiple versions!

Salt and Vinegar Popcorn- I mentioned in my Hello 2017 post that one of my goals for the year was to not eat chips, and so I’ve switched over to popcorn when I’m really craving chips! We have an air popper, so it’s healthier than the bags, although I do melt a bit of Becel to help the flavour stick. I use Kernerls flavouring, it’s the best in my opinion (second to the ones you can get at the movie theatres. Those are my #1).

Check out the video below for a closer look at my favourites!
