Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a new type of post with you, and empties post! I’m showing you some products that I’ve used up in the last few months. I’ll let you know any thoughts on them, if I would repurchase (or already have), and if I would recommend them! I’ve found links for pretty much everything, so just hover over the product to click the link, or click the picture! Okay let’s get started!
Shower Products
Satsuma Shower Gel– I generally get one of these jumbo shower gels for Christmas each year, and have a stockpile of them! Using it conservatively it lasted over a year, which is awesome. It’s my favourite scent from the Body Shop, so I love using it. I would recommend it, and haven’t personally repurchased it, but like I said I have a few waiting to be used up.
Tea Tree Oil Squeaky Clean Scrub– I bought this on a whim to wash my face in the shower, and I love it! I’m usually not the biggest fan on minty products, or ones that tingle your face, but I really like this one! It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean. It was out of stock for a while, but I have since repurchased it and bought an extra just in case!
TreSemme Shampoo- I’ve never really noticed a difference in my hair when using different types of shampoo, so I’m trying different kinds to see if I do notice any differences. I have wavy hair so that was what made me lean towards this one, but again I didn’t really notice a difference. I would buy it again if I wasn’t trying other kinds.
Skin Care Products
Vitamin E Cream Cleanser– Now we’re getting into my daily routine products. I use this first to remove makeup and wash my face. I have already repurchased it, and I love this line by The Body Shop (as you can probably tell!) I generally stock up on all things Body Shop when they offer Buy 3 Get 3 Free (which is fairly often). It is a great deal!
Vitamin E Toner- I use this next with a cotton pad to further remove any makeup and clean my face. I have already repurchased it :). I couldn’t find it on the website, so I’m not sure if it has been discontinued, but I’m glad I stocked up!
Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream– I use this moisturizer in the morning before I put my makeup on, and it keeps my face from drying out through the day. I have repurchased it and would recommend it as well! The only thing to note is the “illuminating” factor. It does brighten your face, so keep that in mind when using. I cover it up with my foundation.
Vitamin E Night Cream– I use this at night as the last step. It keeps the moisture in and leaves my skin feeling awesome! I have repurchased and would recommend it.
Almay Foundation- I’ve bought about three of these, and still have one left. Since I bought it I’ve switched to the True Match Foundation that I mentioned in my May Monthly Favourites. Shoppers Drug Mart doesn’t carry Almay products anymore, so I don’t think I would go out of my way to repurchase this foundation. I think for a lightweight liquid foundation it’s a good start, but I like the other type more.
Urban Decay Setting Spray– This is the only setting spray I’ve ever used, and I like it! I am just waiting to repurchase it again, but the travel size I used up much faster than I thought. The bottle recommends spray 2-4 times, and I would definitely say use 2. Spraying 4 times if definitely why I used it up so fast. I think I will keep the travel size bottle for travelling, and buy the larger size next.
Marcele Eye-Makeup Remover- This is my favourite eye makeup remover! Its gentle on my skin and doesn’t leave the skin around my eyes feeling oily! I just lightly hold a cotton pad over my eye, and gently wipe away all the makeup! I have re-purchased it and would definitely recommend it.
Aveeno- I got this travel size hand cream to keep at my desk at work, and I went through it fairly quickly. I didn’t love the smell, and I didn’t feel like the moisture sunk into my hand like other creams I’ve tried. I wouldn’t buy it again.
Lip Products
EOS Lip Balms- I’ve used up three of these in maybe the last year. My lips get really dry so I have lip balm everywhere. I felt like I had to apply a lot of this lip balm for it to work, and it was awkward to apply when it got near the bottom. For these reasons I probably won’t buy these again. I think I’ll stick to the Burt’s Bees one I mentioned last week.
Lip Smacker– I’ve had this since high school (it stayed in my winter jacket). I think it was Strawberry Banana but the label wore off. Now I wouldn’t repurchase unless I wanted to relive my childhood, and I’m sure some of you would feel the same!
Beach Babe Lip Balms– I bought these along with some other things from Tone It Up, and I did not like them. They are made with coconut oil I believe, but they just felt grainy. I wouldn’t recommend them or re-purchase.
Nivea Chap Stick- I got this pack of two, and hated it. It felt really thick going on my lips, and left them white. Like I was intentionally wearing white lipstick or something. It’s the only thing on this list that I didn’t use up completely.
Hair Products
Garnier Fructus Hair Spray- This hairspray is no longer available in the “hold” that I originally purchased, so I’ve moved on to try something else. I liked it, but don’t want to recommend something that isn’t available anymore! I like hairsprays that hold nicely, but don’t leave your hair feeling crunchy or hard. This one smelled nice too.
Healthy Sexy Hair- This product I found on Little Miss Momma’s blog, (I pretty much bought everything on her list) when I cut my hair a few years ago. It took me about a year to use up this product, and I liked it. Again with hair products I don’t find a huge difference between products, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. I’m trying something else now.
I also filmed a video to go along with this post, check it out below!
I hope you enjoying a look at some of the products I’ve used up lately! This type of post won’t happen very often, but I hope to post another Empties in the future! I also am planning on doing some “get ready with me” type videos, showing my morning and nighttime routines, so keep an eye out for those in the future!
Let me know in the comments if you’ve used any of these products lately, and what you thought! Also, if there’s any new posts you’d like to see on the blog, let me know!
