Drunk Elephant Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money?

drunk elephant skincare review

Hello friends, I hope you are well! I recently picked up some Drunk Elephant products during the Sephora Spring Sale, and I thought I would show you how they are working for me! I’m going to share the products I have currently, and how I use them, as well as what I think of them and if I would repurchase them. I’ve been using them for just over 9 weeks, so I’ll also share what products have stuck around the longest! Drunk Elephant skincare is expensive, so I’m also sharing if I think it’s worth the money! Okay, let’s get started!

So to start I thought I should mention the products I purchased. I bought The Littles, which come with 8 different products, as well as the travel pack of the bar cleansers.

Morning

Pekee Bar Cleanser– The first thing I use when getting ready in the morning is the Pekee cleanser. It lathers up really well and leaves my face feeling clean and ready for the day. I puchased the travel pack of this and the juju (mentioned later), and they are holding up really well. I think they will last close to six months. I would repurchase it, possibly even in the larger size because it would last probably a year or more.

C-Firma Day Serum– After my face is dry, I apply the C-Firma Day Serum that is fairly liquidy. This is one product that I’ve read you should not stock up on, because it changes in color and you don’t want to use it when it does. It starts as a honey-ish yellowy orange (the technical name lol), and if it becomes orange you should stop using it. I’ve liked using this serum, and would repurchase it.

Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defence SPF– Next I apply some SPF! This mineral sunscreen doesn’t leave a white residue on my skin which it nice. I find it’s a little goopy with the twist cap at the bottom, and a bit of it hardens (like toothpaste on the cap or a pump bottle of lotion), which is a little annoying. The full size has a different cap so I might be willing to try it, but I’d also be open to trying another brand.

B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel– I finish up with this moisture gel. It’s not a moisturizer, but I was surprised with how much I loved it! It’s clear, hydrating, and goes on really nicely! It was the first product to run out (after just more than 7 weeks) and I was surprisingly sad! I will definitely be repurchasing this in the full size.

Night

Juju Bar Cleanser– I generally shower at night, so if I do I use this exfoliating cleanser. It’s so gentle! It’s like a fine grit sand, but it feels so nice on my face! It’s in a bar form as well, and has held up really nicely. I would repurchase it, and again potentially in the larger size because I could see it lasting up to a year.

Best No. 9 Jelly Cleanser– I use this cleanser if I don’t shower. This is the one product that I am not a fan of. I don’t like the way it lathers, and I don’t think it does a great job taking off my makeup which it is supposed to do. I won’t repurchase it, and will use the pekee bar morning and night instead. I also don’t like the twist cap, because it leaks a lot!

TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum– Once my face is clean and dry, I put the Night Syrum on. It’s acid based and I thought I would have to ease into using it, but I went straight to using it every night! A little goes a long way, and I only need one pump from the small bottle. I would re-purchase this!

Virgin Marula Luxury Facial oil– Next I go in with the Maurla oil. It’s the first oil I’ve used and my face, and I though it would leave my face feeling greasy. It doesn’t! It soaks up really nicely. This was the second bottle I used up in just under 8 weeks. I would repurchase this, and even the smaller size available at Sephora I think would last quite a while!

Shaba Complex Eye Serum– My Second last step is the eye serum! I’ve actually noticed a big difference with the bags under my eyes! I use maybe half a pump of this and it’s more than enough. I think the small bottle will last me a while still!

Lala Retro Whipped Cream– Lastly I go in with even more moisture, the whipped moisturizer! I love this product. My skin feels so nice after using it! It’s very light, and a little goes a long way. The small pot will last a while still (even though I’m now using in mornings because the B Hydra ran out). I will purchase the full size, which has a neat dispensing mechanism!

Whew! That was a lot. Now for the grand reveal! Here is my skin after using these products for nine weeks.

Let’s look at the before and after side by side!

what I will purchase next

I’m trying to hold off on purchasing the full sizes until the next Sephora sale in November, and get the most for my money until then. Because I ran out of the B-Hydra first (and because it might be my favourite product in the line) I will purchase the full size. I’m also looking at purchasing the Acid Trip Kit from Sephora, which has the C Fima and TLC Framboos in larger size than the littles, but not the full size, plus the little size of the Marula Oil. From there, I will slowly work my way up to the full size as I run out of the other products!

Overall thoughts

Overall I am really happy with the results I’ve seen! I’m happy I invested in my skincare, and I will continue to do so! If you would like to try Drunk Elephant products, I think The Littles are a great place to start! And you can see a difference even in the amount of time you go through the small sizes!
