Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2018! I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday! Today I’m sharing some of the things I got for Christmas, as well as my goals for 2018. I did this in 2016, and 2017, plus I even followed up on my goals for last year just a few weeks ago. I’m trying to hold myself accountable for my goals, and I’ll write a follow up at the end of this year as well. I know this year is going to be busy, and I’m trying to set my goals for the year to keep me focused and on track! Okay, let’s get started!

what I got for christmas
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette– I’d had my eye on this palette for a while, and I’m happy to have added it to my collection! It has some orange and red shades, plus some darker browns that I’m excited to try out!
Sephora Favourites: Give Me Some Nude Lip- This kit came with 5 sample sizes and 1 full size nude assortment of lipsticks, glosses, and lip stains. It was only available during the Sephora Fall Sale, and was a great value to try a few things out! I’ve enjoyed having so many lip options!
Thomas Kinkade Tangled puzzle, 2018 Wall Calendar and colouring book– Ethan hit a home run this year! We gave each other smaller gifts this year after buying a new MacBook Pro, and I love what Ethan got me! We did the Little Mermaid puzzle by the same artist a few years ago, and as soon I saw the Tangled one, I wanted it! I also had seen the wall calendar and wanted it as well, but little did I know Ethan had already purchased both the puzzle and the calendar, as well as the colouring book!
Garmin Forerunner 35– I’d been wanting this for a while, so I don’t have to carry my phone with me when I run! It also tracks steps, and my sleep, and it gives me notifications from my phone as well as the weather!
Kevin Pillar Blue Jays Jersey- The last few years I’ve really become a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, and I’ve wanted to have my favourite players jersey! This year I got it, and I can’t wait to wear it to a game! I actually wore it all day on Christmas because I was so excited.
Harry Potter series on blu-ray– This has been on my radar for a while (I feel like this was an occurring theme this year?), and I’m so happy to finally own it! I will admit I thought this set would be larger and more of a display on the shelf because it’s beautiful type thing but I’m still happy to have all of the Harry Potter films in one place!
Magnolia Journal Subscription– I’ve talked about how much I love the show Fixer Upper, and since they release a magazine earlier this year, I’ve wanted to get my hands on it! I can’t wait to get my first issue!
goals for 2018
eat healthy!
I feel like I say this every year, but I really want to eat healthy this year! I now have a wedding dress to fit in! I want to still be able to have the things that I like to eat in small quantities, and have healthier lunches and dinners. Ethan and I are going to work together to meal plan and choose healthy recipes!
drink coffee black
I am so very slowly cutting sugar and milk out of my coffee. I hope to be able to drink it black before the end of February. Not only because I want to cut back on sugar, but I’d actually like to be able to taste more of the quality of coffee I’m drinking. I’ve been using my favourite flavoured coffee to cut back, which is Winter Carnival from Timothy’s. It’s a bit of a sweeter coffee to begin with, but I figure any start is a good start!
run a 10k in less time than this year (1:08-ish)
I’d like to improve my pace and run one race this year. I’m really happy to have a running watch now, so I can keep a closer eye on my pace and really see how I’m doing as I’m running, instead of just at the end of a run.
read 13 books
Goal is to read one book per month, and 2 in one month. I’d love to set a higher goal, but I know this year is going to be busy, so I’m going easy on myself!
get that newsletter going
One of my main goals for the blog is to get my newsletter growing! Its one of the easiest ways to grow a blog, and it’s something I should have done a while ago!
open my sticker shop!
The goal is January 31st, and I’m getting close to meeting that! I’ve finally hit a groove when it comes to designing, and there are just some small tasks I need to do before I can open shop. When I do open, I will make sure to announce it here!
Less screen time
I recently downloaded the “Moment” app which tracks your screentime, which apps you use the most, and how many times you pick up your phone. I’ve realized I’m one of those people who feels like I can’t miss something on social media, so I scroll all day until I know I’ve seen everything. I know how silly that is, and I’m using this app to try and reinforce that in me and just put my phone down. I stare at a computer all day at work, and I really shouldn’t come home and stare at my phone all night.
Get back into working out 5 days a week
I was really lenient after my 15K in October, so much so that I completely got out of my routine of working out in the morning. I’m slowly getting back into it, and now that I have a activity tracker that measure my runs and how hard I work during a workout, I’m a little more motivated!
Happy New Year!
That about wraps it up for this post! I hope you enjoyed a look at some of the things I got for Christmas, and my goals for 2018. I can’t believe I’m getting married this year! I just wanted to take a second to say Happy New Year, and I hope your year is off to a great start! It means a lot to me that you took some time out of your day to read this post.
I also wanted to give a shout-out to one of my friends who blogs as well! She recently posted about her goals for 2018, and her blog is all about pregnancy and birth! She’s a certified Doula, so if you are interested in learning more, check out her blog Silver Birth here!
