Hello everyone, I hope your August is off to a great start! In today’s blog post I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the month of July! From entertainment, to clothing and accessories, food, and a priceless item! Okay, let’s get started!

Entertainment
Wreck It Ralph 2– I’d been wanting to watch this since it came onto Netflix, and finally got to see it! It was so cute, and it had a ton of internet references that I don’t think kids would get, which made it pretty funny! And I got Ralph in a different sense as someone who is on YouTube and social media! There’s a whole part to the movie where he is trying to make money on the internet fast, which I’m sure we can all relate too! Definitely a cute movie, and I would recommend it if you liked the first one!
Clue the Movie– I watched the first half of this when I was in high school (so a while ago!), and I can’t remember why but I never saw the end! Fast forward to a few months ago and I was listening to an episode of Justin Long’s podcast where he interviewed Neil Patrick Harris (who I LOVE), and he mentioned that Clue was his favourite movie! So of course I had to watch it, and my boss owned it and let me borrow it! I really liked it, and definitely laughed out loud at several points. Watching the DVD was fun too because you can see three different endings! I liked the third on the best.
Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding– I read another book by the same author I believe at the beginning of last year, so I was excited to read something else. To not give too much away, here’s the summary from Amazon:
The author of the bestselling novel The Party—lauded as “tense and riveting” by New York Times bestselling author Megan Miranda—returns with a chilling new domestic drama about two women whose deep friendship is threatened by dark, long-buried secrets.
Big Little Lies season 2- I feel like I mentioned the first season last summer but I wanted to mention season 2! I was very excited for this season because season 1 ended where the book did, and I wanted to see what was next! It wasn’t very many episodes, but I thought this season was done really well! And Renata was my favourite! Do you watch Big Little Lies? What did you think?
Ticket to Ride board game– This game is my newest obsession! I’ve played it 7 times in the few weeks I’ve had it, which is saying a lot! It’s sort of hard to explain, but the object of the game is to claim as many train routes as you can, using the destination cards to tell you where to go. You have to have the cards for the route in hand (5 blue, 3 red etc), to claim it. And you lose points for any routes you don’t complete at the end of the game. I’d heard about it from John and Sherry at Young House Love, and from Anna at The Anna Edit, so I knew this game had to be good! It’s expensive, but worth it! You can also buy smaller versions like New York or India that are less expensive.
Clothing and Accessories
Make it Minnie Dream Suite necklace– I’d had my eye on this necklace for the past few months, and I follow the Instagram page, so when I saw it was being discontinued I purchased it right away! I love how simple it is, and I wear it on the tightest loop so it sits nicely and won’t get caught. I love the other designs the shop has, but love my little castle!
Under Armour fly-by shorts– I picked up these shorts at a National Sports outlet, and have really enjoyed wearing them for working out! I’ve been doing the 80 Day Obsession for a while now (currently in round 2), and they work great for those workouts! I’ve swapped the cardio days for running this time around, and these shorts aren’t too short and keep things breezy! They even have a pocket. I may have to buy another pair! They have a liner inside as well which I really like in my workout shorts. This style is the closest I could find, but they aren’t the exact same in the waistband area.
Food
Strawberry Spinach Salad recipe– I’ve been pretty sick of salad after eating a ton last year in preparation for my wedding, but lately I’ve found one I love! It’s perfect for summer with strawberries, spinach, candied pecans and a balsamic dressing, I just swap out the feta for goat cheese and it’s perfect! You can find the recipe here. I’ll be making it whenever I can it’s that good.
Chocolate Croissants– I follow Blair Lamb on Youtube, and earlier this year when she announced she was expecting she mentioned one of her pregnancy cravings were chocolate croissants from Starbucks. I’d never had one, but it sounded really good so I tried one. Oh man. So good! I may have had too many lately, but they are so good I had to mention it!
priceless
Going to a Cottage- For the past three years, Ethan and I have gone to a cottage with my father-in-law’s family, and we went again a few weeks ago! It’s always nice to get away for a few days and spend time with family, and we had fun again this year! I don’t know if I’m the type of person who would want a cottage to go to every weekend, but it’s fun once per summer! Plus, the view was beautiful!
