Hello friends! I hope you are well! It’s officially summer, and it’s been HOT! In today’s post I am sharing some of my favourite things from the month of June! From books, to entertainment, beauty, and a new drink, I’m sharing it all! Okay, let’s get started!

Books
The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena- I flew through this book in about a week! A husband and wife leave their baby at home after the babysitter cancels, and go to dinner next door. They check on her every half hour and bring a baby monitor, but when they come home, the baby is gone. This book was similar to Gone Girl, and had a lot of twists and turns. I would recommend it!
The Girl Before by JP Delaney– I also read this book in about a week! To not spoil anything I will put the description from Amazon below, but it looks like Ron Howard is involved in the movie adaptation, so it should be good!
The request seems odd, even intrusive–and for the two women who answer, the consequences are devastating.
EMMA
Reeling from a traumatic break-in, Emma wants a new place to live. But none of the apartments she sees are affordable or feel safe. Until One Folgate Street. The house is an architectural masterpiece: a minimalist design of pale stone, plate glass and soaring ceilings. But there are rules. The enigmatic architect who designed the house retains full control: no books, no throw pillows, no photos or clutter or personal effects of any kind. The space is intended to transform its occupant–and it does.JANE
After a personal tragedy, Jane needs a fresh start. When she finds One Folgate Street she is instantly drawn to the space–and to its aloof but seductive creator. Moving in, Jane soon learns about the untimely death of the home’s previous tenant, a woman similar to Jane in age and appearance. As Jane tries to untangle truth from lies, she unwittingly follows the same patterns, makes the same choices, crosses paths with the same people and experiences the same terror, as the girl before.
Entertainment
Disney Fairytale Weddings show- I’m a sucker for weddings, and all things Disney, so this show is right up my alley! Each episode focuses on two couples, and you join them for wedding planning and their big day! It’s crazy to see the reception settings in Walt Disney World and beyond, and the amazing weddings the Disney team put together!
Wicked- If you watched this weekend vlog from a few weeks ago, you’d know that for Alex’s birthday, we went to see Wicked! It’s one of my favourite musicals, and I’ve seen it three times now! The music, the story, I just love it. I even put in my 5 Favourite Musicals blog post from a while back!
Accused Podcast– I flew through 2 seasons of this True Crime podcast in June! Each season focuses on a cold case, and is told “Serial style”, trying to find the truth. I listened to both seasons within two weeks, so I would say they are pretty good! The first season takes on the murder case of Beth Andes, and the second season Ritha Welch. I explain a little more in the video below!
Queer Eye Reboot from Netflix– I might be the last person in the world to watch Queer Eye on Netflix, but I love it! I’m trying to pace myself with season 2, because I watched most of season 1 in a day! The Fab 5 help to transform the lives of men in each episode. Each member of the Fab 5 has a “specialty” or focus. It’s such a great heartwarming show!
Sonos Speaker– Ethan and I talked for a while about getting one of these speakers, and when Ethan saw an open box one on Best Buy.ca for a bit of a discount, we jumped on it! I’ve really enjoyed having it in our room, and the app makes it easy to connect Spotify to it and control the music. There’s also a sleep timer, so we’ve been falling asleep to music!
Acoustic Summer playlist on Spotify– I’ve enjoyed listening to this playlist! It features a lot of popular songs, just a little bot more mellow because it’s all acoustic! I would recommend it!
Beauty
It Cosmetics Brow Power pencil in Universal Taupe- I can’t for the life of me remember where I got this (Ipsy? FabFitFun?) but I’ve had tis brow pencil in my makeup bag for a long time, and started using it recently! I think it looks more realistic than the eyeshadow I was previously using, but I’m still getting used to it! I’d someday like to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills one, but for now this is working for me!
drink
Very Berry Hibiscus Lemonade from Starbucks- I’d been wanting to try this for a while just to have something other than coffee at Starbucks, and this is a new go-to! It’s sweet (so if you don’t like overly sweet things it may not be for you), but I love it! It’s really refreshing, and is a nice drink for summer!
