Hello friends, and Happy June! I have no idea where the past two months have gone, but I’m so happy the weather is getting nicer! Today I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the month of May. From entertainment, to beauty and more, let’s get started!
Entertainment
Asking For a Friend podcast with Lauren Conrad– I’ve been a Lauren Conrad fan for a very long time, and I was so excited to hear she was coming out with a podcast! It started at the beginning of May, but I’ve been looking forward to Wednesdays all month. She interviews different people she works with (like Kristen Ess), and it’s just an interesting conversation to listen to each week!
Aladdin- I liked it! I only watched the very first preview that came out last year and avoided everything (even if it involved running out of the room and LALALALAL-ing) so I didn’t really have any expectations going into it. I think they did a good job, and I’m very happy that Will Smith made Genie his own. While I don’t think it could ever replace the original, I would definitely watch it again!
Dead to Me– Guys. If you are looking for something to binge on Netflix let this be it! Such a smart show, and so well done. It’s witty and each episode makes you want to watch another. It’s so good! I watched the 10 episodes in 4 days and really hope they make another season!
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas– I only read two books in May, and this was the one that took me the longest! It’s kind of like Twilight, meets Beauty and the Beast and The Hunger Games, but I enjoyed it! It’s the first in the trilogy so I think a lot of the first book was introducing you to this other world. But it was good and I’ve added the second book to my list.
First We Feast- Hot Ones- I found this on May 30th but liked it so much I had to add it. I first watched the episode with the Jonas Brothers, then John Mayer and Gordon Ramsay. Basically, it’s a show where a celebrity is interviewed while they eat 10 chicken wings progressing in heat. It’s funny, and the interview questions are fascinating! I’ve linked the Jonas Brothers one and the channel above. They are around 30 minutes long but definitely worth it!
Beauty
It Cosmetics cc cream– I picked this up during the Sephora Spring Sale, and I’ve been really liking it! I just use my hands to apply it but it feels very light on my skin and a little goes a long way. And I know it’s a good product when Lauren Conrad’s makeup artist mentioned it on Asking For a Friend last week! I might pick up the next shade for summer because right now I have Fair which is the lightest shade.
Le Angelique 5 in 1 Curling Wand– My curling wand that I’d had for a few years broke last month, so I decided to pick up another! I’ve been using the 1″ wand because of my shorter hair, but I like having other sizes to switch out depending on my hair length. One thing to note if you pick up a set like this: sign up for the warranty as soon as you get it! I didn’t for my Cortex one, and I could have gotten a free replacement if I had. So you can bet that was the first thing I did when I got my new one!
home
Gravid Weighted Blanket– My birthday present from Ethan this year was a weighted blanket, and I’ve been loving it! I wasn’t sure how I would like it but it’s actually be helping me sleep! I keep it on my side of the bed, and I don’t find it too hot to sleep with (only in the very early morning, because I’m always cold lol). It’s washable and had a removable cover which I really like, and one side is soft which keeps me warm!
priceless
Walking for Easter Seals- The last weekend of May my family participated in the Easter Seals 5K walk! Last year Ethan and I ran the 10K while the rest of my family walked the 5K, and this year we all decided to walk the 5K. Easter Seals has always been special for my family and if you read this post you’ll know that Ethan and I met at the Easter Seals Camp we worked at! So participating in the walk was a special reminder for my family, but it also felt really good to walk for good cause!
