Hello everyone, I hope you are well! Since I took most of last month off, today I’m sharing some of my May & June favourites! I’ve got some entertainment , book, food and drink favourites, as well as one special priceless. Okay, let’s jump in!

entertainment
Cold podcast– It has been a while since I’ve listened to a true crime podcast, and this one got me hooked! I heard about it from Blair Lamb, and it’s about the Susan Powell case. She disappeared from her home in December 2009, and this story was twisted. I would recommend it, but don’t expect a happy ending.
Ben Platt (Sing To Me Instead and live from Radio City Music Hall Netflix special)- Ben Platt is pretty much my newest obsession. I knew him from Pitch Perfect and Dear Evan Hansen, but after listening to his episode of Armchair Expert, I wanted to listen to his music! So I started watching his Netflix special, then found his album on Spotify. I love both, so much! Some of my favourite songs are Temporary Love, Share Your Address, and Older. His voice is amazing, and I just want to listen to his music all the time. I think you should check it out!
books
The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory– This was an easy read romantic comedy, but I found the main characters thoughts so relatable. It’s about a girl who meets a guy in an elevator that gets stuck, and he ends up asking her to be his date to a wedding the following night- while pretending to be his girlfriend. It was predictable, but I still enjoyed it. I know there’s a sequel too so it’s on my list of books to read!
Someone We Know by Shari Lapena– I’ve talked about the app that I use to read most of my book in this post, but it has a newer feature that got me this book sooner! It’s your “lucky day” where you can skip the line and get the book for 7 days (instead of the normal 14). With this book, I grabbed it! And FLEW through it. In a neighbourhood that seems perfect, someone is murdered. But who did it? I was Wong (feel like I always am with these books!), but still enjoyed it!
Becoming by Michelle Obama– I’ve been on the waitlist forever for this book, so I was so excited when it was finally my turn! I’ll admit that I really didn’t know much about her, so I learned a lot from her book! It was timely to read during the Black Lives Matter movement that happening, and among the other books that people are suggesting to read I would recommend this book! There’s also a special on Netflix of the same name that I want to check out.
I’m planning out the first part of my 2020 books post, so expect that coming soon!
food and drink
Ohana bread pudding from Chipandco– One of the desserts I’ve enjoyed in Walt Disney World that I still miss, so we decided to make it at home! I found this recipe from ChipandCo, and it turned out just like the real thing! If you close your eyes you feel like you are at Ohana! Delicious bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Yum! I might have to make it again.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake– One of my favourites from 50’s Prime Time in Hollywood Studios, and Disney released the recipe! I’m sure using a high quality ice cream would make a big difference, but we made both the chocolate and vanilla version, and it was so good! We also had a blackened salmon Caesar salad with it for dinner, which is the meal I can order from 50″s Prime Time without even looking at a menu!
Popcorners assortment pack– We picked these up at Costco and they’ve been a really nice snack! It come with three kinds: a white cheddar (that taste just like Smartfood popcorn), a sweet and salty kettle corn that’s my current go to, and a plain sea salt. Nice if you just want a small portion, but they are good!
Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes from Chocolate with Grace– I made these to thank our vet for everything she did for Luna, and we were making strawberry shortcake for my sister’s birthday the same night so we kept the theme going! But these were really good, and really easy! Perfect summer cupcake!
Bubba Envy Mug– This isn’t a food or drink, but it’s what I’ve been using to drink all my water from lately! I saw Blair Lamb had one and I had a Frozen tumbler (because SVEN) that was about half the size, and it was leaking and I just had to fill it up a lot so I wanted something bigger. This is definitely bigger! But it keeps my water pretty cold and doesn’t sweat which is so nice especially in this weather!
priceless
Luna- I had to include this because she really was priceless. And I had planned to include her in my May favourites, but with the ups and downs of her health I just couldn’t get the post together. Luna was our sweet puppy that we picked up on May 9th. There was something neurological that was going on that we aren’t sure exactly what it was, but unfortunately on June 20th we had to say goodbye to her. I’m not trying to make this super sad, but I did want to mention her because she was priceless and we love her so much. We did everything we could for her, and I believe she gave us everything she could in her short little life. We will never forget her.
