Hello everyone, I hope you are well! And Happy October! Since getting married on the weekend, I feel like I can relax now! In today’s Disney post I’m sharing my 5 favourite Table Service Restaurants in the Walt Disney World Parks! I’ll be sharing one from each park, and two from Epcot (one in Future World and one from World Showcase). Okay, here they are in no particular order.
What is a table service restaurant?
A Table Service Restaurant would be a “sit down” meal, where you have a server bringing the food to your table. They are more expensive that the quick service meal, and it takes a bit longer to enjoy a meal.
Special Notes
I’m a pescatarian, so I don’t eat meat but do eat fish. So I won’t be raving about burgers and steaks in this post!
Another thing I wanted to note is that this list can definitely change as my touring style changes! Right now I typically spend most of the day in the parks, so it’s where I’m eating! Down the road, I may spend more time at the resorts at eat there more, especially with being a DVC member and all! But I’d love to hear your thoughts on these lists! Do you spend enough time in the parks to have five favourites? Or are they all in the resorts?
magic Kingdom- crystal palace- The Hub
I think this is the restaurant I’ve been to the most at Magic Kingdom, and eating there is something I know will be pretty good. It’s a buffet character meal, so you are paying a premium for the characters, but there are lots of options, and an ice cream machine, so I’m happy! If you are eating here for dinner, you can actually leave your table to watch the fireworks, which is really nice! The last time I ate here was the first meal of our 2016 trip, and I really enjoyed the location because I could look out the window and see the castle, and say “I’m finally here!!!”
hollywood studios- 50’s prime time diner-Echo Lake
50’s prime time- This is my 100% go to in Hollywood Studios. I’ve eaten here I think 3 or 4 times, and ordered the same thing every time! And if I was to go right now, I’d get the same thing. The blackened caesar salad with a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Delicious! I’ve even tried to recreate this salad at home. Okay I’m going to stop talking about it because it’s making my mouth water. There is a bit of a schtick, where your server is Aunt or Uncle or Cousin, and they tell you to keep your elbows off the table and eat all of your veggies! if that’s not your thing, you can tell them and they’ll tone it down!
animal kingdom-tusker house- africa
Tusker House is actually the only table serbive restaurant I’ve eaten at in Animal Kingdom, so while it’s my pick by default, I did really enjoy it! It’s a buffet, so there’s not one specific dish I would pick to eat right now, but it was really good! It’s also a character meal, so you get to see Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their adorable safari outfits!
They are GREAT with dietary restirictions here. On our 2016 trip my sister was on a puree diet, and the chef came to our table, said put together a plate and he would blend it. It was great!

epcot- teppan edo-world showcase
We also ate here for the first time in 2016, and loved it! There’s an entertainment aspect that makes it fun in a larger group, because you will most likely get a table to just your group (which was the case for us). Again here they were amazing for dietary restrictions, and cooked all of the vegetarian items for me before the meat. And they were great for my sister too!
If I were going back I would probably get the salmon, which I think Ethan got on this trip.
epcot- garden grill- future world (The land pavillion)
This restaurant is in the Land Pavillion, and is definitely a favourite of mine! I’ve eaten there at least twice. It’s a rotating restaurant that oversees different scenes from Living with the Land, and it’s also a character meal! You get to see Farmer Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale! We ate here in 2007, and having been a vegetarian for less than a year, I remember loving the options I had here! It’s a set menu, you can just ask for more of anything, so there’s not one specific item I would eat if I were to go back today. Also, all of the produce is grown in the greenhouse that Living with the Land tours, which is really neat!
honorable mentions
via napoli-Epcot World Showcase- Ethan and I ate here on his birthday in 2015, and we really enjoyed it! Ethan wasn’t feeling great so we would like to go back for a better experience, but that’s not the fault of the restaurant! The pizza is delicious, and when they talk you into getting a bigger pizza you can take it to-go and back to your room (which we did and snacked on it throughout the rest of our trip!). I’d like to try other types of pizza and more of the appetizers!
sci-fi dine in theatre- Hollywood Studios- Another great choice in Hollywood Studios, with a fun atmosphere! Your booth or table is a car, and you’re in a drive in! Your waiter or waitress is wearing roller skates, and the milkshakes are delicious! I’d have the veggie burger if I were to go back today! It’s fun with a larger group because you get a car to yourself. When I went with just my Mom, we had to share a car with other parties, and just had a row to ourselves.
