Hello everyone, I hope you are well! Today I wanted to share the details of everything I wore and used on my wedding day! There were some splurges, but you might be surprised where I got some items! This is the last wedding related post I have planned, so without further ado let’s get started!
earrings
I got my earrings here on Etsy! They were quite inexpensive but beautiful! I wanted them to go with my necklace without being too long (didn’t want them getting caught on anyone while I was hugging!), and they worked great. Plus they aren’t too showy that I could definitely wear them again.
necklace
I borrowed the necklace I wore from my cousin, and it was so special to wear. My cousin wore the necklace on her wedding day over 10 years ago, and I’m so happy I got to do the same! It was put together by my Aunt and strung with Swarovski crystals and some of my Grandma’s costume jewellery. Both of them have passed away so it was a special way to honour them and have them with me.
hair comb
The hairpiece I purchased was actually more expensive than my veil! I knew I wanted my hair to be up (to show off my dress, and also if there was any humidity my hair won’t hold a curl), and I loved this one! I haven’t decided if I want to sell it yet because I love it! I liked that it kind of fits the nature vibe.
veil
I got this veil here (also got my hairpiece there), and it looks exactly like the one I tried on in the bridal shop, but for at least $100 less. I ended up wearing my veil longer than I thought I would (mainly because I didn’t have time to take it out of my hair), but I just didn’t see the point in paying so much for one! I got fingertip length in white.
Robe
I also wanted to mention how I stayed comfortable before I got into my dress, and it was with this robe! I got one for my bridesmaids as well, and got initials on them! I love remembering the wedding when I wear the robe now! I got the 5 pack in navy.
dress
I wish I could wear my dress every day. I love it so much! It’s the Octavia by Rebecca Ingram and it was the first dress I tried on! You could purchase a skirt that tied around the waist to add some volume, but I loved it without it. I loved the detail on the back that wasn’t illusion but looked like it, and the beautiful buttons on the back. I did purchase the belt through the shop where I got my dress, but I don’t remember what it was called and couldn’t find it online. I did try to find it through Etsy, but ended up paying more by getting it at the bridal shop.
Another detail I had added to my dress was hidden, hidden Mickey’s! I had pieces of my Mom’s wedding dress and my Grandma’s wedding dress cut into Mickey’s, and the heart was a piece of my Aunt’s wedding dress. So special to have, plus a touch of Disney
bracelets
Best Day Ever was a running theme through our day, and was on the invitations, so I knew I had to get the bangles from Lillian & Co. for my bridesmaids and my mom, mother in law, and for myself. I also bought a “You’ll be in my heart” one to honour all of the family members that are no longer with us and couldn’t be there to celebrate with us, and a “Happily Ever After” one because that’s how Ethan and I are going to live!
clutch
The story of how I got my clutch is a bit of a funny one. Have you ever seen the commercials for Winners or a store like that where you have a “hallelujah” moment and the sun is shining on the product you’re looking at? Yep, it was one of those! But there was only one problem. There was only one in the navy colour, and it had a stone missing. I asked for a discount and got one, then ran to Michael’s and bought a replacement stone. You couldn’t even tell the difference! I was quite proud because it was definitely a splurge even with the discount! I got mine at Saks off 5th, so I couldn’t find a link.
shoes
With navy being one of our wedding colours, I really wanted a pair of navy shoes (and it could also be my “something blue”). I pictured one with a skinny heel, but other than that I wasn’t picky! I ended up finding this pair that I loved on Amazon of all places! I love them and can definitely wear them again! I also bought SoleMates so that my heels wouldn’t sink into the grass, and they worked perfectly!
Dancing shoes!
I knew I wasn’t going to last the whole day in heels, so I picked some fun shoes for the reception! The sparkly sneakers were inexpensive and so comfortable! I wouldn’t recommend them for running, but they are adorable and everyone loved them! I don’t have a formal picture of them, but the picture below is from the site linked above!
