Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day so far! Today’s blog post is all about our wedding day timeline! I’ll be sharing the entire schedule for the day, which ran so smoothly thanks to our schedule! As I mentioned in my Amazing Wedding Vendors post, we worked with Alana from Swoon Events, and she helped to create this timeline for us! We loved working with her, and we were on time all day. Okay, let’s jump in!
Our day our way
I just wanted to start out by mentioning some of the basic things we wanted in our schedule, just in case you don’t want to read every single time! We were having a 4pm ceremony, and chose to do all of our wedding party pictures before the ceremony. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to walk around with my sister, so I wanted to give us extra time.
Ethan and I also decided to do a first look, and pictures just the two of us in the lower forest area. We also wanted to go from the ceremony into cocktail hour into dinner, so doing pictures before helped. And because we were at our venue for the whole weekend, everything was in one place so there was no travelling involved! I can’t say how happy I was to not have to get in a car in my wedding dress!
The schedule
9 AM-Hair & Makeup Starts
11:45AM- Photographers + Videographers Arrive
11:45AM-12:30PM- Photo and Video Details of Kelsey’s Accessories
11:45AM-1PM- 2nd Shooter with Ethan, detail shots and getting ready
12:15PM- Wedding Co-ordinator Arrives
12:30PM- Florist Arrives and setup
12:30PM- 1:15PM– Kelsey getting into dress and bridal portraits
1PM– Ethan goes to get ready for first look
1:15PM-1:30PM– Kelsey & Ethan first look
1:30PM-2:30PM- Bride & Groom pictures around property
2:30PM- 3:15PM- Pictures with Kelsey & Ethan with wedding party
2:30PM- DJ Sets up
3PM– Caterer Arrives
3:15-3:30– Photo & video of ceremony space
3:15PM- 4PM– Freshen up & get ready for ceremony
3:30PM – Bartenders & officiant arrive, prelude begins
4PM– Ceremony begins
4:30PM-5PM- Family photos & florals transferred to reception space, & cocktail hour begins
5PM– when family photos are completed, Kelsey & Ethan to join cocktail hour
5:30PM– reveal of reception space for Kelsey & Ethan and pictures
5:45PM– Cocktail hour ends, receiving line for guests entering reception space
6:15PM– Kelsey & Ethan enter and have first dance
6:20PM– MC introduces and welcomes guests
6:25PM-6:30PM-Best Man speech
6:30PM-6:35PM– Maid of Honour Speech
6:35PM-6:40PM– Reading of Irish Blessing
6:40PM-7:40PM– Dinner is served
7:20PM-7:25PM– Ethan’s Parents speech
7:25PM-7:30PM– Kelsey’s parents speech
7:30PM-7:35PM– father daughter dance
7:35PM-7:40PM– Mother son dance
7:40PM-8:30PM– Dessert is served
8:20PM-8:25PM– Bride & Groom speech
8:25PM-8:30PM– Kelsey & Ethan cut cake
8:30PM– Dancing begins!
8:45PM– Videographer leaves reception
10:30PM– Late night station opens
10:45PM– Wedding co-ordinator leaves reception
1AM– Music stops and reception ends
I hope anyone who is trying to figure out their timeline found this helpful! There are a lot of factors that go into the schedule, and everyone’s looks a little different. We definitely had some down times in here, but I’m so happy that we had the timeline so nobody was asking what was next, and it kept us on time!
