Hello everyone, I hope you are well today! In today’s post I’m going to be talking about the tools that helped to keep me organized (and sane) when I was planning my wedding. But first, to any brides out there: the work is all worth it, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel! You can do it! From apps, to planners, let’s get started!
google sheets
I used Google Sheets to organize our guest list, and made a spreadsheet with addresses, and columns for if I had mailed the save the date, invitation, thank you card and even had columns for which bridal shower the guest was invited to. All you need is a Gmail account, and I was able to share it with anyone who could use it! My parents, Ethan’s parents, bridal shower hosts. Plus if you set it up properly. you can import the contacts easily to the apps mentioned below!
the knot & the knot app
We also used The Knot’s website to find vendors, but I used the app a lot. We made our wedding website with The Knot so I managed RSVP’s through the app. They also have a wedding checklist if you are looking to know what you need to do by a certain time, and a countdown until the big day!
wedding wire & the wedding wire app
I also used the WeddingWire App, but really liked the seating chart functions of the website. You can input how many people per table and the shape, and drag and drop your guests! No giant board with sticky notes to move around, and I could easily download it and send it to our wedding co-ordinator. So easy! We also found our wedding co-ordinator through WeddingWire, and even got a discount.
It was how we found our venue, so just be willing to do you research! It’s your day, so you should be willing to look anywhere to find the vendors that will work for you and make your day perfect!
wedding planner
I used the Erin Condren Wedding Planner, and it got a ton of use! I quickly flip through the planner in the video at the bottom of the post, but my favourite feature was the amount of lined pages at the back! I am a list maker, so I loved having all of that space to make lists as the wedding got closer and closer. For $10 off your first Erin Condren order, click here. (affiliate link)
Wedding co-ordinator
We hired a month of co-ordinator, and if you can swing it I would 100% recommend it! Having someone there for you throughout the whole process, and someone who will make your day run smoothly is so worth it. We hired our planner a year and a half out, but we could contact her at any time with questions which was great! And I didn’t want people to be looking to me the day of wondering what is happening next or where they should be. I mentioned how amazing our planner is this post.
Ethan
Having Ethan and working together made wedding planning so much less stressful! In the last months before the wedding we were constantly talking about what still needed to be done, what we were working on, and making lists. I don’t know what I would have done without a partner that was as invested in the wedding as I was! Communicate. It’s a good test (like assembling Ikea furniture), and it brings you closer as a couple!
Notes App
Lastly, having the notes app on my phone was so helpful, because unlike my physical wedding planner I always had it on me! Things would just pop into my head, and it was really nice to have one place to jot it down.
