Walt Disney World Resort is located just outside of Orlando, Florida. Since the age 5, I’ve been seven times. After being so many times, I’ve really learned what some of my favourite things about Walt Disney World are.
There are so many things to love about Walt Disney World, but here are just a few reasons for me. I’ll be doing a series of posts called “What I Love About…” and in each post talk about something specific, whether it is a park in Walt Disney World, a restaurant, or something I’ve experienced. Would you like to know my thoughts about something? Post in the comments or head to the contact page!
The Bubble
Being in Walt Disney World is like being in a bubble. You are in a different world. The news isn’t as “in your face” as it normally is, making it easier to feel like you are on vacation. The main highways that you travel on while using Disney Transportation have specific signs to the resorts and parks, and the billboards are for Disney parks and Disney attractions. I feel it really adds to the experience. If you choose to not stay on site you will not understand the bubble, but it really does exist.
The Cast Members
Walt Disney always wanted his parks to be a show, and what better to reflect this than naming staff members “Cast Members”. The Cast Members in Walt Disney World are amazing, and work extremely hard to make your vacation a memorable one. They go above and beyond on so many occasions, really setting the standard of what customer service should be. Something about being greeted with a smile no matter what really just makes me happy inside. I know Walt Disney World wouldn’t be the same without the amazing Cast Members who run the parks and resorts.
Accessibility
One of the most important things for my family when we are travelling is accessibility. My sister Alexandra is in a wheelchair, and if we are going somewhere, she needs to be able to get around! Walt Disney World is 100% accessible, and they go above and beyond to make sure our vacation is a good one. All Disney buses are wheelchair accessible, the resorts have accessible rooms, and all attractions have a wheelchair accessible entrance. I love Walt Disney World because of how accommodating it for people with disabilities.
The Magic
It’s really cheesy to say, but something about Disney just brings a smile to my face. Seeing a child’s face when they meet their favourite princess, or see Cinderella Castle for the first time really is magical. Even going as an adult I can appreciate the memories that other people are making and enjoy seeing everyone have a special time. I’m very excited for when I eventually have children and take them to Disney World to experience it again. There aren’t many places that give you this magical experience.
Convenience
Walt Disney World is pretty easy to navigate, once you understand how everything works. Going for a vacation at Walt Disney World is all about convenience, (some glass half empty people might say that it is to make sure you only visit Walt Disney World while in the Orlando area) but I see it as them wanting to make your vacation a vacation! With the Disney’s Magical Express, Disney Transportation to the parks, the dining plan, and My Disney Experience, a Disney vacation can be simple and amazing!
The Details
I will go into more specifics in other “What I Love…” posts, but Disney does details right. Every single time I visit Walt Disney World I have a different experience. I notice things that I haven’t seen before. I slow down a little, and take in the atmospheres I love so much. I don’t always “have” to do something, and I try to experience something new each time I visit. The details range from the attractions and shows to just places around the park. Part of what I loved about visiting WDW in February was taking my DSLR camera. I got to walk around the parks looking for things to capture and really noticed the details. Next time you visit Walt Disney World, I urge you to find the details!
As you can tell, there are so many things that I love about Walt Disney World. There are even more things that I can’t put my finger on, but they make me smile just the same. Stay tuned for What I Love about each of the WDW Parks!
