Hello everyone! Welcome to this week’s Disney post! Today I will be sharing everything there is to do during Spring at Walt Disney World! From special events to seasonal offerings, and tips I’ve learned from trips, I’m sharing it all! Spring is one of my favourite times to visit, so writing this post was easy! Okay, let’s get started!
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
Running from February 28th- May 29th, 2018, this is one of my favourite festivals at Epcot! I love seeing the different topiaries around World Showcase and sampling the food! In the last few years they’ve increased the food offerings (it’s like Food & Wine lite) and I haven’t been since 2013 but the food this year looks great! You can check out all of the food offerings for this year here. There is also a concert series just like at the Food & Wine Festival!
easter egg hunt
There is a fun activity to take part in at the Flower & Gardne festival every year, and a new addition this year! Maps and stickers are $5.99+tax, and it’s your job to find the Easter eggs hidden around World Showcase! New this year is the Spike the Honey Bee Scavenger Hunt. You can find more information about these events here.
Chocolate Easter Eggs at The Grand Floridian
One thing I’ve never seen in person is the chocolate eggs at the Grand Floridian! One of my favourite resorts in general, and the chefs from around the resort make beautiful themed Easter Eggs!
meet the easter bunny
You can find Mr. and Mrs. Bunny in Magic Kingdom until Easter, and get your picture with them!
Star Wars RunDisney Weekend
Sure to be a busy weekend with 3 races (a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon), this takes place every year! I know some people who are running this year, and I hope to run one of these races in the future! (Mostly because it falls around my birthday that I could then be in Walt Disney World on my birthday!
seasonal shows
The Trolley show in Magic Kingdom gets a spring update, as well as Festival of Fantasy! I love how Disney makes subtle changes for the seasons
low (ish crowds)
March and April can be busy with Easter and spring break, but I’ve found May to be fairly low in crowds. It’s actually one of my favourite times to go! I’ve been to Walt Disney World in May 4 times! On my 1st trip, 2nd trip, 4th trip and 7th trip! I find the weather is perfect (hot which I like, and it’s still warming up in Canada so it still feels like a vacation to a warm destination!)
New UP! Bird show at Animal Kingdom!
Starting April 22nd, the relacement for Flights of Wonder will be showing! Featuring Dug and Russel from UP! It will premiere in Earth Day, which is also Animal Kingdom’s birthday!
If you’ve been to Walt Disney World in the Spring, let me know what one of your favourite things was! For me the Flower and Garden Festival is always fun, and I love seeing the topiaries every year!
