Hello everyone, I hope you are well! As you probably know I went to Walt Disney World and on my first Disney Cruise a few weeks ago, and today I’m sharing a recap of the trip! I vlogged as well so you can come along with me (still working on editing so I’ll let you know when the vlogs will start airing), but today I’m going to walk through each day of the trip, and what we had planned vs what we ended up doing. Okay, without further ado let’s jump in!
Wednesday November 13th
Plans: Fly to Orlando, check in to Wilderness Lodge, go to Magic Kingdom, see Happily Ever After Fireworks!
What we actually did: Pretty much that! It was busier in the park than we expected, so we ended up taking a 2 hour break around dinner before heading back to Magic Kingdom! We did our 3 FastPass+, got another for Splash Mountain and did Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Under the Sea during Extra Magic Hours! There were people waiting for Happily Ever After 2 1/2 hours before it started, so we waited just about that so I could make sure I had a good spot! It was worth it and I pretty much cried the whole time.
Highlight of the day: Being in Magic Kingdom again and seeing Happily Ever After in person!
Thursday November 14th
Plans: Rope Drop Animal Kingdom to ride Flight of Passage, do everything we want to do there. Get bus to Art of Animation to ride Skyliner to Epcot. Dinner at Epcot, watch Epcot Forever Fireworks.
What we actually did: Again, just about that! We rope dropped Flight of Passage which still took about 75 minutes, and did our other FastPasses at Animal Kingdom and walked around. Had a delicious lunch at Sat’uli Canteen and got the bus to Art of Animation just after 1pm. We took the Skyliner (I will have a video all about it soon!), and spent the rest of the day at Epcot! Got a FastPass+ for Soarin (after using our 3 at Animal Kingdom), had some food from the Food & Wine booths, and dinner at La Hacienda de San Angel. We finished off the night by watching Epcot Forever in the light rain, and went back to our resort! Epcot was only open until 9 so we were back fairly early. We also got instructions in our room about boarding the next day because we were taking Disney transportation to the port!
Highlight of the day: Seeing Pandora for the first time, riding Flight of Passage, wondering around Epcot!
Friday November 15th
Plans: Explore Wilderness Lodge, breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Get bus to Port Canaveral and board the Disney Dream!
What we actually did: We had breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe (I had the vegetarian eggs benedict and I’m still dreaming of it)! We then ended up doing a tour of Wilderness Lodge which was really neat and I would highly recommend if you have the time, and relaxed at the resort. We were picked up at 11:30 and headed straight to Port Canaveral! The bus ride was easy and boarding the ship was pretty quick! We grabbed lunch once on the ship at Cabanas, had a drink on one of the tops decks, and wandered around before our room was ready. We then changed, watched the sail away show, watched the Golden Mickeys and the tree lighting, had dinner at Enchanted Garden and pretty much went to bed. It took some time for both of us to get used to the ship moving!
Highlight of the day: Getting to know the story of Wilderness Lodge, an Amazon breakfast, and sailing away!
Saturday November 16th
Plans: Stay on the ship in Nassau and relax in the sun! Enjoy pirate night!
What we actually did: It was raining off and on that day so we didn’t do much lounging! We had breakfast and lunch at Cabanas, rode the AquaDuck (which involved standing in the pouring rain), had a nap, watched the Beauty and the Beast show (which was AMAZING!), had dinner at Royal Palace (my favourite meal of the cruise), and went to bed!
Highlight of the day: Beauty and the Beast show and an amazing dinner!
Sunday November 17th
Plans: Enjoy Castaway Cay, snorkel and run the 5K. Enjoy our last night on the Disney Dream!
What we actually did: Breakfast at Cabanas, and got off the ship! Ran the 5K and immediately lined up at Olaf’s Summertime Freeze for the Sven sipper! We then walked back to the ship to change out of our running clothes, and got back off. We walked around and took the tram to Serenity Bay where the beach was closed due to weather, and grabbed lunch there. We took the tram back to the main beach and relaxed in a hammock for a bit. It was very windy and cloudy, and all excursions were cancelled. When we realized we didn’t have much else to do we got back on the ship and watched some of Moana from chairs on the upper decks. We started getting our stuff organized and packed, went to see the Believe show and had dinner at Animator’s Pallete. We then went to bed and had a rough night because the water was ROUGH. Neither of us got a lot of sleep and by the time we woke up we were ready to get off the ship.
Highlight of the day: Seeing Castaway Cay, and getting the Sven sipper!
Monday November 18th
Plans: Disembark the ship, rent a car and drive to Hollywood Studios! Do whatever we can, enjoy Oga’s Cantina and drive to the airport to fly home.
What we actually did: Had a very quick breakfast and disembarked the Disney Dream. Then we got a shuttle to Hertz and picked up our rental car, and drove back to Disney! We made it Hollywood Studios by about noon, after we were off the ship by 9am. We wandered into Galaxy’s Edge (WOW), and only had one FastPass+. Rode Alien Swirling Saucers, had lunch at PizzeRizzo, and I enjoyed a drink at Oga’s Cantina. Neither or us were feeling great and it felt like the boat was still moving, so we just enjoyed wandering the park. We left around 3 and headed back to the airport, flew home and arrived home just after midnight. It was a whirlwind!
Highlight of the day: Seeing Galaxy’s Edge for the first time!
