Hello and Happy Wednesday! I seriously don’t know where the last month went because it’s monthly favourites time again! I’m sharing some of my favourite things from July, from entertainment, clothing, beauty, and more! Okay, let’s jump in!

Entertainment
Hamilton– Yep! July 3rd was a very exciting day in my house because we watched Hamilton! We were actually supposed to see it in person on my birthday, so I’m happy that I finally got to see it in some version! I’m obsessed. I’ve watched it three times and listened to the soundtrack pretty much once a day during the week. It’s just so well done and such a concept! My favourite songs are Wait For It and One Last Time. Okay, I’ll stop gushing. But I love it!
Into the Unknown: The Making of Frozen 2– I LOVED watching this on Disney+. I love seeing the behind the scenes, and especially Disney related things! If you want to appreciate the making of an animated film, watch this. Then watch Frozen 2. I enjoyed this so much!
Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell– This was a thriller that I flew through! Trying to figure it out as it switched between past and present, and I was so close! It’s from the perspective of a mother who’s teenage daughter goes missing, from the time as it happened and then years later. Full of twists and turns! I have another book by this author that I haven’t read yet, but I hope to read it soon!
Blink by K. L. Slater– I actually read this book before the one I just mentioned, but it was somewhat similar. From the perspective of a mother (and a few others) after her 5 year old goes missing. The first half was a little slow, but then it picked up and just kept twisting! I was so off in what I thought was going to happen, and I finished it right before bed one night… and had some trouble falling asleep. It was a quick read though, and I might suggest not reading it right before bed!
Act Like a Lady by The Ladygang– I’ve listened to this podcast for a long time now, and they wrote a book! It’s full of short essays about life, love, career and more! I enjoyed getting to know the girls better and it was a nice light read. The perfect beach read.
Clothing
Pineapple Peak Hat– I used to never own any hats. And now I have at least 4. This is my newest one and I love it! It’s from the company tentree, and they plant 10 trees for every product sold! They also have different collections that donate to specific organizations (Ethan bought a hat from the Australia collection that donates to help in relief from the wildfires), and you can even track where the trees that were planted for your item are! The little pineapple is so cute and I like the fact that it’s white and cooler than a dark hat.
Beauty
Complexion:Uncomplicated Brush Set (specifically the Buffing Brush!)- I picked this up in a set during the last Sephora Sale, and I used it for the first time when I put makeup on for filming last time! It was so easy to use and my foundation wasn’t streaky at all! I used to use one of those silicone “sponges” but I felt like I had to go over and over the same spots. This works so much better and is so much faster. You could probably buy just one brush for what I paid for the kit, so it’s already worth it to me! It’s the brush second from the right in the picture below!
Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub– I’ve had an irritated scalp recently, and I’ve had this scalp scrub in the shower for a while. I used this and it felt so good! It’s gentle enough that it didn’t burn or anything, but felt amazing. It’s pretty thick and you need to part your hair and really rub it in, but it’s so nice.
Food
Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Bake– I’ve made this twice this month and it’s such a good breakfast! It’s also really easy to make, and I would bake it the night before and eat it throughout the week. It has strawberries, bananas, oats, cinnamon, almond milk and chocolate chips!
My Fitness Pal– When everything first shut down I was eating anything that I wanted. Now, I’m trying to be a bit more careful of what I’m eating and I’m trying to lose a little bit of weight. Just tracking my food and limiting my calories (not to the extreme or anything) has made a big difference! The app has a database that you can easily search foods or scan barcodes. You can also create meals and recipes, and add recipes from websites to add things quickly. It’s been working for me, and I just use the free version of the app. If you are looking to for an easy way to be more accountable with what you are eating, I would try this app!
Priceless
Journaling- One simple thing that I’ve been enjoying lately is my evening routine, especially journaling. A month or two ago I was avoiding journalling because I wasn’t sure how things were going to go with our puppy. But now it’s been helpful and healing in a way. Last year I used prompts to help me get into the routine of writing in a journal, but this year I’m just writing on my own. How my day was, what I’m working on, what I’m thinking about, anything really. It’s just been a nice way to wind down when I’m sitting in bed before I read for a bit. (I shared what my evening routine is in this post). It’s the simple things!
