Monthly Favourites- March 2018

monthly favourites march 2018

Hello everyone, and Happy April! I’m ready for warmer weather and for winter to be gone! It’s monthly favourites time again and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the month of March! From entertainment, to podcasts and more, I’m sharing it all! Okay, let’s get started!

Entertainment

Black Panther- I meant to add this last month but I forgot! So we are making an exception because I technically saw it in February (on opening night actually)! I really enjoyed Black Panther, even having zero interest in seeing it. It was so funny, and for once the “love story” wasn’t the main focus, and all of the women kick butt! If you haven’t seen it yet, I would definitely recommend it!

Nailed It!– This show on Netflix is GOLD. Amateur bakers try to replicate professional confectionery works, and it’s hilarious. Especially with my background in baking, and I know how to make the different elements. Seriously, give it a try! I think they have already been renewed for a season 2, and I can’t wait.

The Party by Robyn Harding– I flew through this book in I think only a week! It was an interesting book that I think people of all ages would enjoy! It is a little on the darker side, but deals with some really interesting subjects. Here’s a synopsis from Amazon:

In this stunning and provocative domestic drama about a sweet sixteen birthday party that goes horribly awry, a wealthy family in San Francisco finds their picture-perfect life unraveling, their darkest secrets revealed, and their friends turned to enemies.

90’s Smash Hits playlist on Spotify– I found this playlist, and I’ve been LOVING it! It takes me back to when I was a kid, and I’ve enjoyed playing it in the kitchen on our Google Home Mini. If you like 90’s pop music, check it out!

Podcasts

Gilmore Guys podcast– My friend Lila (who also has a blog you can find here) recommended this podcast to me and I’ve been loving it! It’s hosted by Kevin and Demi, Kevin-who are up watching Gilmore Girls, and Demi who is watching the episodes for the first time. They started the podcast in 2014 so I have a lot to catch up on, but it’s interesting how in detail they go for each episode. I think it lends itself well to people who have watching it a ton (aka me), because I know exactly what they are talking about in the episodes. It also makes me want to watch at the same time, but having just finished Friends I’m trying to watch something new! If you love Gilmore Girls like I do, I think you’ll really like Gilmore Guys.

Up & Vanished– This is my new Serial! I actually just finished the season yesterday (two days before this post goes up), and it was SO GOOD! This podcast talks about the Tara Grinstead case, and unravels in real time. I won’t give anything away, but there have been some pretty big developments in the case since Payne Lindsey started looking into the cold case in 2016. There are “case evidence” episodes that go further behind the scenes, and experts are consulted to answer questions that listened submit. I couldn’t stop listening!

Games

Bakery Story 2– I’ve been addicted to this game lately! You are the owner of a bakery, and in the game you have different ovens to bake different items, to complete orders and earn coins. You also have to expand your bakery to keep your customers happy! I like “task” focused games like these and I’ve been enjoying this one!

Clothing & Accessories

Lillian and Co. bracelets– If you follow Disney obsessed people on Instagram like I do, you’ve probably heard of this brand before. They sell bangled with Disney quotes and mantras on them, and I’m in love! I currently have two rose gold bangles, “Do as dreamers do” from Wishes, and “Have courage and be kind” from Cinderella. They bend easily to fit my tiny wrists, and bring a little bit of Disney magic to my day!

Mid Rise Compression Leggings from Old Navy-While I think Fabletics leggings are my favourite, these leggings are good for the price point! I’ve had them for a few months now and they are comfortable and wearing well! Especially with the many sales Old Navy has, they are good deal!

I’ve listened to the first maybe 10 episodes and I’m really enjoying it! I got swept into the other podcast I mentioned but now that I’m finished it I can go back to Gilmore Guys! Thanks for the recommendation! <3
