Hello everyone! A few weeks ago I shared what I think is Underrated at Walt Disney World, so I thought I’d share the opposite today. I’m taking a look at some things I think are overrated at Walt Disney World! Let’s get started:
Peter Pan’s Flight
While I do think this attraction is a classic and well done, there is no way it is worth waiting 120 minutes for. It’s different than the other dark rides in Fantasyland, but it’s definitely not worth the wait. Unless you have small children, I wouldn’t even suggest using a Fastpass+ for it. Ride at rope drop, later at night, or during Extra Magic Hours for shorter wait times. That’s actually the only time I’ve ridden it, late at night!
Mickey Ice Cream Bar
I do think that anything Mickey shaped tastes better, but this ice cream bar is definitely overrated. My particular ice cream of choice is the Mickey ice cream sandwich. There’s no risk of the ice cream falling off the stick!
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The newest attraction at Magic Kingdom comes with loooong wait times. All the time. Ethan and I wouldn’t have done it on our last trip if it wasn’t for FastPass+! It’s a very smooth coaster, and an interesting “breed” with rollercoaster parts and dark ride parts, but I was disappointed. It was so short! Some people say it’s the greatest ride in Magic Kingdom, but I just don’t understand it. It’s maybe 2 minutes long, whereas Splash Mountain is around 10. I do wish that I had a chance to explore the queue because it is interactive, but I definitely will not be exploring it for 90+ minutes.
Be Our Guest
As you may have caught in my Everything You Need To Know About ADR’s post, getting a reservation at Be Our Guest is nearly impossible. I have eaten there once (at 9pm because that was the only reservation available), but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Considering how hard it is to get a reservation, it’s definitely not worth stressing over. It’s cool, and I hope Disney created other restaurants like it, but probably the most overrated thing on this list. If you are looking to eat there and can’t score a dinner reservation, try breakfast or lunch. You can even get reservations before the park opens, which may be the best empty park pictures you could get during the day!
Mission: Space (Green Team)
If you get motion sickness, skip Mission: Space completely. It’s only worth doing if you choose the “intense” experience (Orange Team). I’ve done both, and the Green Team experience is pretty much just looking at a screen, whereas the Orange Team you actually feel the “blasting off” and the G force. If you are at all nervous (and trust me, they try to make you nervous! They give you plenty of time to chicken out before entering the ride), just skip the attraction, or go in the back to look at the games you see when you exit the attraction.
Olaf
Oh Olaf. In my opinion, Sven is much better. I don’t really understand why he is so popular. I just find him annoying. He is now meeting guests in Hollywood Studios, so hopefully I will benefit from shorter wait times of Tower of Terror as a result? Maybe that’s just wishful thinking!
Tomorrowland Speedway
This was my favourite ride my first trip to Walt Disney World, but I was 5. I don’t understand how the lines are so long, for something that you could do at home! I guess as an adult I see it as overrated, but for kids it what they love. It’s just so loud, and stinky!

Main Street Electrical Parade
I am so over this parade! it’s been around since the 80’s and you can tell. SpectroMagic replaced it, then that parade was retired, and they brought back this one. Where are the newer Disney characters?! While I’m not a fan of throwing Frozen things into everything, I think the “newest” movie that is in the MSEP is Peter Pan, which came out in 1953. Magic Kingdom needs a new nighttime parade, badly. Why people still love this parade I have no idea! We want Paint the Night! (Or something better!)
Starbucks in the Parks
I’m kind of sad that the Main Street Bakery is now a Starbucks, and the lines are worse than ever. I agree that the coffee sucks in Walt Disney World, but I just don’t understand why people are willing to stand in huge lines to have Starbucks in Magic Kingdom (or any of the parks!). There are also mugs that everyone loves for each of the parks, that you can only get there, but Disney has so many mugs that in my opinion are better. I just don’t get it. Overrated!!
Gaston’s Cinnamon Bun
This Cinnamon Bun is HUGE, but other than that, it’s nothing special. While it may be a good use of a snack credit because of it’s size, I definitely think you can find better snacks in Magic Kingdom. Take a look around Gaston’s Tavern where you can buy the cinnamon bun, but don’t give in to the hype of this snack!

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at some of the things that I find overrated at Disney World! I don’t want this post to seem like I hate all of these things, but with the hype surrounding some of them, I thought it would be fun to explain why!
What do you think is overrated at Walt Disney World? Let me know in the comments! Also, if there is anything you would like to see on the blog, Disney-wise or not, please let me know!
Thank you so much for reading!
