Have To’s At Animal Kingdom!

Hello friends, I hope you are all well and ready for another Disney post today! Continuing on in the post series I started a few weeks ago, I’m sharing my  Have To’s at Animal Kingdom! Keep in mind that I have not yet seen Pandora: The World of Avatar, so those attractions won’t be on the list right now, but most likely will be eventually. Okay, let’s jump in!

Have To's At Animal Kingdom

Expedition Everest- I love hitting Animal Kingdom right at park opening and heading straight for Expedition Everest! I get a few rides in and then I’m good. While sometimes I still have to close my eyes when it comes to the Yeti, I love this ride! The speed, change in direction, the views from the top, I love it all!

Expedition Everest

Kilimajaros Safaris- I love going on the safari! It’s always different because you never know what animals you might see, and the cast member drivers are always great! We usually go in the morning when it’s said the animals are more active, and we usually have pretty good luck! I also love taking pictures of the animals, although it can be tricky with how bumpy the ride is!

This guy came up right beside the truck, you never know what you will see!

It’s Tough to be a Bug- I generally do this so I can get up close to the Tree of Life, because I always like to find new animal carvings! This is something fun to do with someone who has never done it before, and might not be aware of some of the special effects ;).

Tree of Life Awakenings- I saw these for the first time on our last trip (which was also my first time seeing Animal Kingdom after dark) and I really thought it was a great way to end the day. Animal Kingdom got a lot of slack for being a half day park, but something about seeing the crowds stop and watch these little shows made me really happy! If you want to see what I’m talking about, check out the Disney Vlog below!

The Festival of The Lion King- I love this show! The “Can You Feel the Love Tonght” scenes always makes me cry, but this show is such a good time! I grew up with The Lion King, so it’s fun to jam out to the songs and watch the different performers!

Wandering the Park!- Animal Kingdom doesn’t have a ton of attractions, so it’s definitely one of the parks I love to wander. I feel like every time I’m there I find a new path to walk down, and I love seeing the animals up close!

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my have to’s at Animal Kingdom today! I love spending time at Animal Kingdom, because it is such a unique park! I feel like it is also one of the most detailed parks, so I enjoy walking around and soaking it all in. It used to be a half day park in my opinion, but now I enjoy spending the full day there!

Monthly Favourites- September 2017

Hello friends! I hope October is treating you well! It’s finally cooled off in the greater Toronto area (which made thanksgiving feel a bit more like thanksgiving), and while I’m sad to see the warmer weather leave, I love sweater weather! It’s monthly favourites time once again, and I’m sharing some of my favourite things from the month of September! Okay, let’s get started!

September 2017

(affiliate links used for convenience)

The Bucket List Family– I discovered this YouTube family while they were completing 30 Stays in 30 Days at Walt Disney World, and I now want to follow them on all of their adventures! Two years ago the Gee family sold their belongings and started travelling the world, and wow have they seen a lot! After watching their Instagram stories and the ones shared on Walt Disney World’s Instagram, I really feel like I’ve gotten to know them, and I will definitely continue watching them!

Monthly Favourites September 2017

Hercules– Okay so funny story. When I was a kid I went to a babysitters after school, and they had the Disney movie Hercules. Well I didn’t own it, so I watched it there EVERY SINGLE DAY. After really wanting to watch the new fireworks show at Disney which Hercules is featured in (which Ethan said it wouldn’t), I really wanted to watch Hercules! One night while I was editing a weekend vlog, I heard the beginning of a Disney dvd :D. So Hercules had to make the list this month!

Friends From College- I started watching this show on Netflix, and I’m enjoying it! It makes me cringe a little bit (because it involves people having an affair), but maybe the more episodes I watch the less that will happen. I’ve only watched 4 episodes so far, but it definitely has made me laugh!

The Child by Fiona Barton– I mentioned I was reading this in my 10 Books I’m Loving Right Now post, and I finished it a few weeks ago. IT GOT SO GOOD! The subject matter is pretty dark (the remains of a baby are found in a construction site), but I really liked the ending. I would definitely recommend it!

Orange is the New Black- I’ve been catching up on the last few seasons of Orange is the New Black in the mornings, and while I think the first two seasons were the best (I’m currently watching season 5) but I’m still watching because I want to know what happens!

Boots from Aldo– I got these adorable booties to wear in the engagement pictures Ethan and I had done in September, and I love them! They are comfortable and not too high that I can’t walk in them! Plus I love the black, and the wood heel helps it to go with even more things.

Monthly Favourites September

Dress- This dress I also bought (from H&M but unfortunately I can’t find it online!) for the pictures, and I love how it fits! I was stressed the week leading up to our pictures because what I thought I was going to wear was way too big on me, and I just love this dress! One of our wedding colours is navy as well, so this fit :).

Monthly Favourites September 2017

Micellar Water by Garnier– Okay so in the craziness of baking and packing and getting everything ready for my cousins wedding, I forgot my makeup remover. So I thought I would try the micellar water, and I really like it!

Peanut butter cookies- I had to mention these because I made probably about 200 in September! 120 were for my cousins wedding, but my Dad and Uncle love them so much I knew the extras wouldn’t go to waste. My Grandma always made these, and having the recipe in her handwriting is so special to me. She passed away when I was in high school and had Alzheimer’s so I dont’ remember much of her when she was healthy, but I remember the peanut butter cookies. My family loves when I make them 🙂

Have To’s At Epcot!

Hello friends, and happy October! I can’t even believe I just typed that! I hope you are all well. Today’s Disney post in the next in the Have To series I started a few weeks ago! Today I’m sharing the things I have to do when I go to Epcot. It makes up my ideal day, and I can’t picture visiting Epcot without doing these things! Again I’m trying to keep the list under 10 things. Walking into Epcot is one of those Disney moments I just love. The moment I hear that background music, I feel like I’m home! Okay, without further ado, here are my have to’s at Epcot!

Have to's at Epcot

Soarin’ Around the World- Soarin’ is one of my absolute favourite things at Walt Disney World. I love the ride itself, but I also love riding it with my sister. She would never be able to experience something like this in real life, so the fact that she can experience it at Disney is pretty special. Watching her face is just as good as watching the actual film. The newest version might not be as good as the original, but I definitely enjoyed it last November! I avoided spoilers as much as humanly possible, and cried like 3 times when I finally got to experience it. I was SO HAPPY they kept the original music (with a new spin), because I love it so much. Okay, if you can’t already tell, I love Soarin’.at Epcot

Living with the Land- The other thing I love to do in The Land Pavillion! It’s such a relaxing ride, and I love seeing all the food they grow! And looking for hidden Mickey’s :). I’d like to do the Behind The Seeds tour where you can actually walk the greenhouse, I think it would be pretty cool!

Grand Fiesta Tour- There are rumours that this ride will change once the new movie Coco comes out in November, but I hope it stays the way it is! I have to ride this every time I visit Epcot! It’s not the most popular ride, but I love it! Once Ethan and I rode it and there was an audio issue so it was quiet… and very weird. I love to see the Three Caballeros, and I love the audio animatronics they added to the end of the ride!

Test Track- I really love the new (not that new anymore) Test Track. I liked the old one, but I love the new version. Since you now get to design your own car, it makes the ride that much more immersive! I love the darkness of the ride, it gives it a much sleeker feel. And it reminds me of Tron. But the ending, oh how I love the ending! Going outside and going FAST! It’s really fun.

Test Track at Epcot

Frozen Ever After- I know it usually has a HUGE line, but for me there’s really only 1 reason this made the list. SVEN. I love Sven if you don’t know, and getting to see him up close makes me squeal. Don’t believe me? Check out the Disney Vlog below and skip to around 10:40. The audio animatronics are really amazing in this ride!

Club Cool- When it’s hot you have to visit Club Cool! I love trying the different sodas from around the world, and if I’m with someone new you can bet I’m getting them to try the Beverly! My favourites from my last trip were Pineapple Fanta and the Watermelon Lemonade! Check out this Disney vlog to watch Alex try said Beverly :D.

Spaceship Earth- I always have to go on Spaceship Earth when I’m at Epcot! It’s slow moving and relaxing, air conditioned, need I say more? It’s hard to explain what I like so much about this ride, but I love it. The number of audio animatronics is pretty crazy to think about, and you learn a little bit on the ride too! I love the “Your Future” thing at the end too, because it’s always different and if you take a funny picture at the beginning it makes it even funnier. I love looking at Spaceship Earth around the park just like I do Cinderella Castle, it just brings a smile to my face.

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth- A day at Epcot has to end with Illuminations! Ethan thinks it’s the best show for strictly fireworks in Walt Disney World, and I have to agree! I love the music, and how all of World Showcase is involved. It’s the best ending to an Epcot day!
