My 5 Favourite Resort Restaurants at Walt Disney World!

Hello everyone! I hope you are well! Today’s post is all about food at the Walt Disney World Resorts! I’m sharing my 5 favourite restaurants within the Resorts! This is actually the hardest category for me, because I spend so much time in the parks and barely eat at resorts. Some might be a bit of a stretch, but I hope to try out more resort restaurants soon! Okay, let’s jump in!

My 5 Favourite Resort Restaurants at Walt Disney World

california grill- Contemporary Resort

I love going to Califonia Grill! I’ve eaten there twice, and love the food and the view! It’s the one restaurant I recommend people go to, even if it’s just for appetizers or drinks. The food is delicious, but the view is amazing. If I were to go right now, I would order either the Crispy California Rolls or the Ora King Salmon. They have a designated Sushi Chef, so the sushi I’ve had there has always been amazing!

our love story

o’hana- The Polynesian

I love O’hana! I’ve been for breakfast (all you care to eat character meal), and for dinner (all you care to eat). I think I prefer dinner, because the bread pudding is AMAZING. Plus you can see the fireworks and the music is piped in. It’s all you care to eat so there’s not one specific dish I would order, but I would recommend a Lapu Lapu, and lots of bread pudding.

My 5 Favourite Resort Restaurants at Walt Disney World

Kona Cafe- The Polynesian

Kona is the other Table Service Restaurant in The Polynesian! It’s where you can get Tonga Toast with a special sauce, as well as Kona coffee! We ate lunch there in 2016, and everyone really enjoyed there meal! There were 10 of us total, so I think that tells you something! If I were to go back today I would have the Stir Fry with Tofu.

My 5 Favourite Resort Restaurants at Walt Disney World

beaches and cream- Beach Club

I ate here for the first time on my last trip and loved it! It’s a fairly small space, but the food is good and the Ice Cream is better! They have crazy things like The Kitchen Sink that involve every flavour of ice cream and a can of whipped cream. If I were to go right now, I would order the Veggie Burger and the No Way Jose for dessert! I suggest planning it on a day that you don’t walk a lot after, or eat a lot that day ;).

My 5 Favourite Resort Restaurants at Walt Disney World

Chef Mickey’s- The Contemporary

It’s been about 10 years since I’ve eaten here, but it’s your basic Disney buffet with characters, so it’s fun! You get to meet Chef Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, and Donald!

I actually think these are the only resort restaurants I’ve been to! I also ate at Shutters (Caribbean Beach) but it’s currently under construction/changing names, so it’s unfair to mention. We ate at all of the restaurants at The Polynesian, and I liked spending the time at the resort! I definitely think it’s something I’d like to do on future trips!

Monthly Favourites- September 2018!

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it’s already October! This year is flying by. I’m back today with another monthly favourites post, sharing some of my favourite things from the month of September! It was a very busy month because I got married, but I still found some items I wanted to share! I’ve also added a new Priceless category this month, sharing the favourite thing I did or experienced, or moment of the month. You might be able to guess what it is this month! Okay, let’s jump in!

Ridiculous Cakes on Food Network- I found this show on Food Network lately, and I love it! If you don’t know I bake, and love making cakes so this is right up my alley! While I’m definitely not as talented as the bakers on this show, I understand all of the materials and techniques they use, and really enjoy watching! I’ve even taken a class with Mike McCarey who is on the show.

monthly favourites September 2018

Armchair Expert Podcast- I found this podcast when it came out and have listened to quite a few episodes! It’s hosted by Dax Sheppard, and he talks to different celebrities about their story. He’s so smart and has such an interesting way of looking at things, that I would really recommend giving it a try! I love how many of his Parenthood castmates he’s had on so far, and I like how long the episodes are! (1-2 hours).

monthly favourites September 2018

Cry Pretty- Carrie Underwood’s new album came out in September, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat! I’ve been a fan since her American Idol days, and I’ve seen her twice in concert! My favourite songs from this album are Cry Pretty and Spinning Bottles and I’ve already got my tickets to see her in June!

monthly favourites September 2018

The Favorite Sister by Jessica Knoll- I had been waiting to recieve my ebook copy from the library for a while, and I was so excited when I could finally read it! I followed this author when she wrote a blog from Cosmo, then she had her own blog website, then released her first book Luckiest Girl Alive (which was really good!). and I really enjoyed this book too! Based on some Housewives, it focuses on a group of women from a reality show Goal Diggers, all entrepreneurs and women who take anything from anybody. When a cast member dies, your left wondering what happened and why. It’s told from different perspectives, and I don’t want to say any more so I don’t give anything away!

monthly favourites September 2018

The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2018- I read this a few months ago but have forgotten to mention it! I love these books because of how informative and nearly scientific they are about the Disney parks. I feel like I know what to expect in Disneyland and I can’t wait! If you are someone who has never been to Walt Disney World, I would recommend these books (just a warning they are large!) because they give you a TON of information. They also have Touring Plans in the back, which essentially tell you which attractions or things to do in a specific order to make the most of your days in the park.

monthly favourites September 2018

Final Girls by Riley Sager– This book is perfect for the upcoming Halloween season, although very dark. A Final Girl refers to a female survivor of a mass murder. The book is about a womans struggle to try and not identify as a Final Girl, but when another Final Girl commits suicide, her and the other remaining Final Girl come together. It’s confusing, and I can’t really find a description of the book (it’s all just quotes from readers), so that’s the best I can do without giving anything away!

monthly favourites September 2018

Satsuma Body Butter- I’ve loved Body Butters from The Body Shop for a long time, and have quite the stash in my bathroom! I’m currently using the Satsuma, and I love putting it on my arms and legs after getting out of the shower. The scent isn’t too much which is nice, and it leaves my skin really soft!

monthly favourites September 2018

Grace and Stella Bath Bomb Set– I got this little pack of bath bombs as a gift before my wedding, and really tried to make time to use them in September! They are nice and small so it doesn’t feel like a waste (the Basin ones and Lush ones I’ve used before are massive!). and they were really nice!

monthly favourites September 2018

Food & Drink

Freshii Energy Bites- I ordered these up on a whim one time when we ordered through Skip The Dishes, and I was surprised with how yummy they are! They have coconut, chocolate chips, oats, and seeds, and they’re quite filling! We’ve actually found a copycat recipe to make them ourselves (although I think they were missing something), but they weren’t bad!

monthly favourites September 2018

Bubly  Sparkling Water- I’ve been trying different brands of sparkling water over the last little while, basically trying to stop myself from drinking pop. I picked this brand up from Costco, and it’s not bad! The case comes with Lime, Strawberry, and grapefruit, and i think my favourite is Strawberry.

monthly favourites September 2018

Tea- One of my goals in September was to not get sick before my wedding! So I tried to drink teas every day to keep any sickness at bay! One tea I reached for again and again was the Raspberry Earl Grey from Steeped Tea. it’s so yummy and a nice twist on traditional Early Grey! I also love this sampler set I picked up in Walt Disney World!

Our wedding!

We got married on September 29th, and it was the perfect day! I’ll be sharing a lot more about our day (and please let me know in the comments if there’s something specific you’d like to see), but it really was the best day ever! Here’s one of the sneak peeks that we got from our photographer!

My 5 Favourites Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World!

Hello everyone, I hope you are well! And Happy October! Since getting married on the weekend, I feel like I can relax now! In today’s Disney post I’m sharing my 5 favourite Table Service Restaurants in the Walt Disney World Parks! I’ll be sharing one from each park, and two from Epcot (one in Future World and one from World Showcase). Okay, here they are in no particular order.

What is a table service restaurant?

A Table Service Restaurant would be a “sit down” meal, where you have a server bringing the food to your table. They are more expensive that the quick service meal, and it takes a bit longer to enjoy a meal.

Special Notes

I’m a pescatarian, so I don’t eat meat but do eat fish. So I won’t be raving about burgers and steaks in this post!

Another thing I wanted to note is that this list can definitely change as my touring style changes! Right now I typically spend most of the day in the parks, so it’s where I’m eating! Down the road, I may spend more time at the resorts at eat there more, especially with being a DVC member and all! But I’d love to hear your thoughts on these lists! Do you spend enough time in the parks to have five favourites? Or are they all in the resorts?

magic Kingdom- crystal palace- The Hub

I think this is the restaurant I’ve been to the most at Magic Kingdom, and eating there is something I know will be pretty good. It’s a buffet character meal, so you are paying a premium for the characters, but there are lots of options, and an ice cream machine, so I’m happy! If you are eating here for dinner, you can actually leave your table to watch the fireworks, which is really nice! The last time I ate here was the first meal of our 2016 trip, and I really enjoyed the location because I could look out the window and see the castle, and say “I’m finally here!!!”

hollywood studios- 50’s prime time diner-Echo Lake

50’s prime time- This is my 100% go to in Hollywood Studios. I’ve eaten here I think 3 or 4 times, and ordered the same thing every time! And if I was to go right now, I’d get the same thing. The blackened caesar salad with a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Delicious! I’ve even tried to recreate this salad at home. Okay I’m going to stop talking about it because it’s making my mouth water. There is a bit of a schtick, where your server is Aunt or Uncle or Cousin, and they tell you to keep your elbows off the table and eat all of your veggies! if that’s not your thing, you can tell them and they’ll tone it down!

animal kingdom-tusker house- africa

Tusker House is actually the only table serbive restaurant I’ve eaten at in Animal Kingdom, so while it’s my pick by default, I did really enjoy it! It’s a buffet, so there’s not one specific dish I would pick to eat right now, but it was really good! It’s also a character meal, so you get to see Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in their adorable safari outfits!

They are GREAT with dietary restirictions here. On our 2016 trip my sister was on a puree diet, and the chef came to our table, said put together a plate and he would blend it. It was great!

Goofy LOVED Alex at Tusker House!

epcot- teppan edo-world showcase

We also ate here for the first time in 2016, and loved it! There’s an entertainment aspect that makes it fun in a larger group, because you will most likely get a table to just your group (which was the case for us). Again here they were amazing for dietary restrictions, and cooked all of the vegetarian items for me before the meat. And they were great for my sister too!

If I were going back I would probably get the salmon, which I think Ethan got on this trip.

epcot- garden grill- future world (The land pavillion)

This restaurant is in the Land Pavillion, and is definitely a favourite of mine! I’ve eaten there at least twice. It’s a rotating restaurant that oversees different scenes from Living with the Land, and it’s also a character meal! You get to see Farmer Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale! We ate here in 2007, and having been a vegetarian for less than a year, I remember loving the options I had here! It’s a set menu, you can just ask for more of anything, so there’s not one specific item I would eat if I were to go back today. Also, all of the produce is grown in the greenhouse that Living with the Land tours, which is really neat!

our love story

honorable mentions

via napoli-Epcot World Showcase- Ethan and I ate here on his birthday in 2015, and we really enjoyed it! Ethan wasn’t feeling great so we would like to go back for a better experience, but that’s not the fault of the restaurant! The pizza is delicious, and when they talk you into getting a bigger pizza you can take it to-go and back to your room (which we did and snacked on it throughout the rest of our trip!). I’d like to try other types of pizza and more of the appetizers!

sci-fi dine in theatre- Hollywood Studios- Another great choice in Hollywood Studios, with a fun atmosphere! Your booth or table is a car, and you’re in a drive in! Your waiter or waitress is wearing roller skates, and the milkshakes are delicious! I’d have the veggie burger if I were to go back today! It’s fun with a larger group because you get a car to yourself. When I went with just my Mom, we had to share a car with other parties, and just had a row to ourselves.
